A visit to Palestine made us realise just how difficult life is for children there. We wanted to do something to help, and just two days after our return to the UK we read a full page article in the Guardian about Playgrounds for Palestine, based in the States, run by the author Susan Abulhawa. When we asked how we could help they said would we consider setting up a UK branch - with some trepidati
on we agreed, acknowledging 'if not us, then who?' Much, much paperwork later we have now have charitable status and a determination to help in whatever ways we can. We believe all children, irrespective of where they live, have the right to play safely and happily and to be just children.
