Women from all walks of life are invited to come along and meet, connect and learn at Xenia. English language learners and women who are confident in English will participate in activities together, discovering the area, talking and forming relationships. Looking forward to celebrating with you all on Saturday 🧡

*Xenia Turns 10 celebration - Saturday 13th June*

*11am-2pm* Assembly Room, *Whitechapel Gallery*, 77-82 Whitechapel High Street, E1 7QX

We will be setting up and decorating from 10am if you would like to help!

Optional dress code: *traditional dress or wear orange* 🧡

A local restaurant will be providing food - if you would like to bring a dish to share you are welcome to, but there will be plenty of biryani and samosa!

📍 Meet in the foyer ⏰ Arrive from 10:00am 🚶 Tour starts promptly at 10:30am

Please don't be late – once the tour begins, we won't be able to wait for people to arrive.

🎉 Xenia 10-Year Celebration Decorations Come to Newington Green Meeting House for a relaxed creative session as we prepare for Xenia's 10-year celebration the following weekend.

We'll be: ✨ Making decorations 🎵 Sorting the playlist 🍽️ Planning activities 🎈 Bringing the celebration together

On 11 June, Xenia officially celebrates its 10th birthday, and we'd love you to join us for a special community celebration on Saturday 13 June.

📍 Assembly Room, Whitechapel Gallery
⏰ 11am–2pm
🛠️ Want to help set up? We'd love to see you from 10am.

Everyone is welcome – partners, friends and family. Come and celebrate a decade of connection, friendship, learning and community with us.

You're welcome to bring a dish to share, and we'll also provide some light food.

🧡 Optional dress code: wear something orange or come in traditional dress from your culture.

The plans are coming together and we're getting excited already. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

We're delighted to share Xenia's Impact Report covering April 2025 – March 2026.

As we approach 10 years of Xenia, this feels like an important moment to reflect on how far we've come and the incredible growth we've seen over the past year across London and Sheffield.

The report celebrates the women who make Xenia what it is, the partnerships we've built, and the inspiring projects we've delivered together. It also marks the launch of our new strategy, setting out our vision and ambitions for 2026-2029.

From creative projects and community-building to leadership development and campaigning for change, we're proud of what we've achieved together and excited about what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of Xenia's journey so far.

Meanwhile, while Xenia Kitchen took place, Xenia women discussed memory in the shade of the trees in Newington Green 💚💚💚

Then we took turns teaching greetings and the phrase "I love you" in all the languages we know. These included Bengali, Turkish, Kurdish, French, Lingala, Swahili, Yoruba and Tagalog - there were a few more too

This Saturday there are two Xenia sessions happening in

*Xenia Kitchen*
This is our quarterly cooking session and our first time at Made In Hackney. Spaces are now full but let us know if you'd like to join the next session in August!

*Newington Green Meeting House*

Xenia Sauna Club ♨️

We’re so delighted to be able to offer this in partnership with Hackney Community Sauna 💛

Our Thursday sauna sessions have been going really well so far — a lovely space to unwind, connect, chat, sweat, cold plunge (if you dare ❄️), and spend time with other women in a warm and welcoming environment.

It might be warm outside now, but everyone still wants a cold plunge 😅

There are still some spare spaces each week if you’d like to join us. We also have a separate WhatsApp group for updates and booking info — DM us if you’d like to be added.

This Saturday there will be just ONE Xenia session — and we’re all together to the Whitechapel Gallery ✨🌍

Together we’ll be thinking, talking, pondering and writing.

We’ll explore words for the earth, for nature, for our planet, for “Mother Earth” — and ask what language can tell us about care, power, feminism, climate justice, belonging, and the futures we want to grow.

Whose voices are heard when we talk about the planet?
What metaphors do we inherit?
What happens when women write the earth differently?

We’ll be writing poetry inspired by our Climate Justice Project and the mural we’re creating together — but no poetry experience needed. Just curiosity, thoughts, feelings, questions, seeds of ideas, favourite words, muddy thoughts, grounded thoughts, ungrounded thoughts 🌱

Come ready to dig into language a little.

Xenia turns 10 next month and last Saturday we started partying planning - there were lots of great ideas, from colour matching our outfits to bringing rice dishes from around the world!

The Xenia team is going to get organising and will share the full plan with you soon, but we thought it best to remind you to save the date!

We've also started collecting videos of birthday wishes for Xenia in different languages - if you'd like to make us one, we'll add it to our birthday reel 🧡🧡🧡
