Pls help us support Bereaved Mothers & Families
We now support 17 bereaved mothers, thats 17 families living with a loss that doesn’t simply go away. ❤️🕊️

At CAV, our bereaved support community is growing, and we want to make sure the mothers, families and young people we support know they do not have to walk this journey alone.

We are fundraising to help provide:

❤️ Coffee mornings & lunches for bereaved mothers
❤️ Family days out & supportive activities
❤️ Mentoring for young people affected by violence, bereavement or loss
❤️ Wellbeing and family activities
❤️ Practical support during particularly difficult times including Anniversaries and Birthdays.

Sometimes support is simply a coffee with someone who understands,
a young person having someone they trust to talk to, or a day where a grieving family can make a positive memory together.

❤️CAV’S SUPPORT COMMUNITY IS GROWING❤️

We are now supporting over 17 bereaved mothers who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child to violence.

Our mums’ community support group is about more than simply having somewhere to talk.
We want to create opportunities for mums to come together through days out, coffee mornings, lunches and other activities, as well as opportunities that can include their wider families.

These moments provide a safe space to connect, build genuine friendships and spend time with people who truly understand that grief doesn’t have a timeline. ❤️

We are currently fundraising to help us provide activities and events for our bereaved mothers and their families.
Every contribution will help us create meaningful opportunities for connection, support and some much-needed moments together.

CAV now has a growing support community of 17 bereaved mothers, each living with the unimaginable pain of losing a child to violence.

We would love to raise funds to bring these mothers together through supportive activities, including days out, coffee mornings and lunches.
These moments give them an opportunity to connect with other mothers who truly understand their grief, build friendships and feel less alone.

Any donation, no matter how small, will help us create meaningful experiences and much needed moments of comfort for these incredible mothers.

❤️Last night, CAV attended the Wembley Public Reassurance Meeting at Boxpark, held following the tragic death of 17-year-old David Wynter at Brent Civic Centre.

We attended to stand alongside bereaved parents listen to the community’s concerns and continue fighting for meaningful change.

We were incredibly proud of our Bonnie & Marsha (the mothers of Micah and Tyrece) who spoke with such courage on behalf of their sons, whose lives were taken by violence in the borough.

The room was filled with members of the community, bereaved families, local organisations and professionals but everyone wanted the same thing, a safer, better tomorrow for all our children and young people! The community really came together.

Since 2025, four young lives have been lost to violence across Brent

🕊️ Micah Whitley, 22
🕊️ Jamal Ringrose, 15
🕊️ David Wynter, 17

They were sons, family members, friends and deeply loved young people. They are more than statistics, and they must never be forgotten.

We will continue to listen, support bereaved families, amplify their voices and fight for the change our communities urgently need.
Hope is our weapon – Peace is our power. ❤️

❤️🕊️Our children are dying in these streets and they deserve better❤️
In the Year ending March 2025

* 63 young people aged 16–24 were victims of homicide in England and Wales (died to violence including knife/Gun crime)
* 34 teenagers aged 13–19 were victims of homicide.
* 22 of those teenagers were killed with a knife or sharp instrument.

The previous year ending march 2024

* 66 teenagers aged 13–19 were victims of homicide.
* 54 were killed with a knife or sharp instrument.

These are more than statistics, behind every number is a young person whose life mattered, and a family whose life changed that day forever!!

So we ask .. Don’t wait until violence reaches your doorstep!
Start the conversation!
Check in with a young person.
Speak up when you’re concerned!
