"I have been caring for my young person since he was 15 and he is now 18 years old.
I have been looking back at how he was when he first came to me and have realised how much he has grown. He came from quite a troubled background and was engaging in therapy and 1-2-1 sessions to help him through the difficulties he was facing.
I am so proud that he stuck with the therapy and has grown up into a respectful young man. He now has a job and has completed his studies and is able to do things for himself. I think he is ready to start independent living so I will be preparing him for this.
He knows that I will always be there for him and that he can keep in contact with me, even when he is not in foster placement with me."

Combine flexible work with fostering teenagers! 70% of children in fostering are 11-18 and many of them will be independent enough to enable you to have flexible work and foster.
