Time and Talents Time & Talents is a lively, busy community organisation based in Rotherhithe, Canada Water and Bermondsey. https://linktr.ee/timeandtalents

Set in a leafy heritage venue, as well as in T&T2, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre. Time & Talents has something for everyone. We have a history stretching back almost 140 years. Since day one, we’ve been supporting local people of all ages, and bringing people together for mutual support, fun and friendship. With a wide range of activities at our centres, along with volunteering and schools’ outreach projects across local neighbourhoods, we work to help everyone feel part of a community. We see a core part of our work as providing ways for people to connect and share their time and talents, including a wide range of volunteering opportunities, skills-sharing, and opportunities to socialise. We want to connect neighbours close and far, to reduce isolation and build a supportive, resilient community.

🎶 Come for the singing. Stay for the community. 💛

Fancy a little more music, laughter and connection in your week?

Breath of Life is a fun, friendly singing group at Time & Talents where you can come along, have a chat, meet new people and enjoy singing in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Everyone is welcome! Particularly welcoming to people living with COPD, asthma or other lung-health conditions.

And the best bit? You don’t need to be a singer! Whether you’ve sung all your life or haven’t sung a note in years, there’s no experience needed.

Every Tuesday:
☕ 10:30am – informal chat
💨 10:45am – gentle breathing exercises & singing

It’s a chance to look after your lungs, lift your spirits and enjoy the benefits of singing together.

🧡 Wow - what a fantastic day and what an impact for our community!

Our first Community Health Hub welcomed 50 local residents aged 55+ to Time & Talents - that's double what we anticipated! 🎉

With GPs, Practice Nurses, Social Prescribers, Admiral Nurses, Physiotherapists and other local professionals all under one roof, people were able to get friendly advice, health checks, support and information about staying healthy, active and independent.

And the feedback this last week has been incredible:

⭐ 100% of attendees rated the event 4 or 5 out of 5!
🌟 4.8/5 was the average rating for the overall experience
💬 4.6/5 for talking about what matters to them most – not just health conditions
🏠 65% prefer a community venue like Time & Talents for future events

We had such positive feedback on the day with a key theme being that our over 55s felt listened to. Some comments:

“I was not rushed. She gave plenty of time to talk about my issue.”
“I had never had a cholesterol test before... glad to learn everything is in order.”
“Informal and friendly atmosphere”

Most importantly, everyone got to speak to their priority health professionals. This feedback and these figures show the real difference and impact that bringing healthcare, community and people together in a familiar local setting can make.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and to all the healthcare professionals, volunteers and partners who made it possible – Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Quay Healthcare Solutions. 💚

Looking for a unique, vibrant venue to hire in Rotherhithe, Bermondsey or Canada Water/Surrey Quays this Autumn?

🏡 🌳 The Old Mortuary - Built in 1860 and a five-minute walk from Rotherhithe overground, The Old Mortuary is a beautiful, heritage space with a ‘village hall’ feel. We have three separate rooms available for hire for regular sessions, functions and meetings – Russell Hall, the Chapel and the Varney Room.

🏙️ 🚋 T&T2 at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre - Based in the busy Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, with a weekly footfall of around 20,000 people. T&T2 is available for hire for community activities, workshops, training, and events and is close to Surrey Quays, Canada Water, and Rotherhithe stations.

🌿 Just a reminder that our Community Health Hub is happening THIS AFTERNOON!

Starting at 1:00pm today at Time & Talents, we’re bringing together local health and community professionals for a friendly afternoon focused on living well, staying healthy and active, and staying connected.

There’ll be lots of opportunities to chat to healthcare professionals, ask questions, find out about local support and activities – and, of course, enjoy a FREE lunch! 🥪☕️

🌱 Thinking about getting back into work, but not sure where to start?

Time & Talents is developing a brand-new series of FREE workshops to help women take that first step. With friendly and supportive sessions, you will get a chance to build confidence, refresh your skills and reconnect with the world of work, at your own pace.

We’ll explore practical things like:

💼 Understanding the world of work and getting back into employment
💷 Benefits and back-to-work advice
💪 Building confidence and recognising your skills and strengths

But perhaps most importantly, the workshops will provide a safe space to ask questions, share experiences and meet other women who may be on a similar journey.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need to be ready to apply for a job tomorrow. This is about taking the first step, building confidence, and knowing that you’re not doing it alone.

If you are aged 55+ living in Rotherhithe, Bermondsey or the surrounding South London area then why not come along to Time & Talents Men’s Pub Club - a friendly, relaxed social space where local men can meet new people, enjoy a drink and be part of their community.

Every Wednesday afternoon, our group gets together at The Ship Inn in Rotherhithe at 2:30 pm. There’s no pressure and no need to know anyone beforehand, just come along, grab a drink, have a chat and perhaps challenge someone to a game of cards or dominoes. 🃏🍺
