The Dean of Southwark's annual 'Act of Regret, Remembrance, Restoration' begins with a procession from Southwark Cathedral to Crossbones Graveyard, followed by a service to honour the women rejected by the Church and buried in unconsecrated ground.

Then come The Bards - with songs, poems, personal testimonies and tales of The Goose at Crossbones.

Alas, due to a mix-up re. dates, I won't be there to host / perform. I know Jennifer will do a grand job of MCing and trust that many other Bards of Crossbones will step up to swell the ranks of the Outcast Living 🙂

I'll be in town a few days later, conducting the Crossbones Vigil for the Outcast / Isis-Magdalene Festival at 7pm (gather 6.45 at the shrine in Redcross Way, London SE1) on Thursday 23rd July

Join the clergy of Southwark Cathedral this Sunday as we process to Crossbones Graveyard for the annual Act of Regret, Remembrance and Restoration.

Together, we will honour the Wi******er Geese (s*x workers who operated in medieval and Tudor Southwark) and remember the estimated 15,000 men, women and children buried at Crossbones, acknowledging lives too often overlooked by history.

Following the blessing, The Bards will gather for an afternoon of songs, music and poetry led by John Constable/Crow. Audience members are warmly invited to contribute a performance in memory of Crossbones' outcast dead.
