The society paid a visit to this wonderful church on Thursday evening. The recently restored TC Lewis sounds absolutely magnificent and a good time was had by all. Our thanks to the team at the church for being so welcoming.

There is a regular recital series there and Tim Harper is playing the next one on 20th August at 7:30pm.

Part 3 of our Bishop Stortford visit - All Saints, Hockerill. A 2 manual Willis, which was partially refurbished and enlarged by Willis in 2019. It sounded magnificent in the generous acoustic.

Part 2 of Bishop Stortford visit - St Michael’s, Church Street. Large 3 manual Walker, completely rebuilt by Mander Organ in 2016.

Visit to Bishop Stortford on 6th June 2026 - 3 very different organs in 1 day.

Part 1: Memorial College. Comprehensive 3 manual 41 stop instrument, recently rebuilt by Henry Groves & Sons. This organ very cleverly uses digital stops to add depth and colour to a core scheme of pipes.

Following our visit to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery last week, we are pleased to advertise a short recital there at 5:30 on Monday 23rd March. Kelly Yeung (St. Mary’s Balham) will play music by Mendelssohn, Franck and Vierne.

The society is making an unusual visit this evening, to a hospital rather than a church. The chapel of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery has a Grade II listed Spurden Rutt organ, originally dating from 1938 and completely restored by Mander in 2024. The organ plays a role in music therapy at the hospital and provides an opportunity for staff and patients to enjoy live music. We are grateful to the organ curator Claire Kitay for hosting us. As both an organist and music therapist, she is sure to have some fascinating insights for us in what will undoubtedly be a most enjoyable evening.
