Today, we're launching the Small Ideas Initiative - a major new charitable initiative that aims to turn the UK public's practical ideas to make life better into policy.
Founded and chaired by Martin Lewis CBE and run by us and Nesta's Centre for Collective Intelligence, the initiative calls on the public to suggest practical ways to improve the UK.
Years of bringing people into decision-making have shown us that the public are brilliant at understanding problems and finding solutions. Those on the receiving end of policy and services know best where things aren't working - from clunky council tax forms to unfair parking meter charges - and they're often the first to spot how to fix them.
Big issues tend to take up the time and attention of politicians. This initiative focuses on finding the small, doable fixes that can make daily life better for millions, giving everyday experience and common sense a real route to power.
How it works:
1️⃣ Submit your idea before 12 November 2026.
2️⃣ Experts will select the best ideas to take forward.
3️⃣ A panel, chaired by the initiative’s founder Martin Lewis, will select the final ideas to campaign on, taking them straight to people who can make them happen.
Everyone - organisations, charities and individuals - is invited to submit.
