Hospitality Action

Hospitality Action We're Hospitality Action. Whatever you do in hospitality, it's good to know somebody's got your back. That’s where Hospitality Action steps in.

Behind their smiles and slick service hospitality workers can fall upon hard times just like anybody else. Ours is a stressful industry, with long hours, high pressure environments and physically demanding work. Injuries, mental health problems and addiction are sadly a feature of modern life in the hospitality trade. We work to provide hospitality workers with financial, physical and psychologica

l support to help them overcome adversity and get back to work as quickly as possible. We help individuals and their families stay afloat with grants to cover anything from rent payments to school uniform for their children. And for those who sadly can’t return to the industry they love, we provide ongoing support to transition them to the next stage of their lives. For older people who have retired from the industry we provide grants to help with heating bills, home conversions or even funeral costs for loved ones. Just as importantly, we provide a lifeline to prevent loneliness and isolation and our ‘Golden Friends’ enjoy regular contact and local events to help them stay active and connected to their community. Most people in hospitality have a story that starts, “If it wasn’t for...”..a boss who believed in them...a colleague who saw they were struggling...a manager who quietly helped them through a rough patch.

You might never be able to thank that person properly. But you can pay it forward.

By choosing Hospitality Action’s EAP, you’re not just supporting your own team. You’re helping to fund counselling, advice and crisis support for hospitality workers across the industry – the very people standing where you once stood.

We’re delighted to see so many hospitality employers featured in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026, with hospitality businesses making up 11% of this year’s list and 64 companies represented.

This is a clear demonstration of the commitment of hospitality employers to create positive workplace cultures with a holistic focus on team wellbeing alongside opportunities for training and development. 🤝

Here at Hospitality Action we are proud to play our part in supporting positive workplace cultures and employee engagement through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and nationwide events like Walk for Wellbeing.

Congratulations to all the hospitality business on this year’s list including many of our EAP clients and fundraisers. 💛

Walk for Wellbeing is back - bigger and better than ever!

Now in its seventh year, Walk for Wellbeing generates vital funds for Hospitality Action, prioritising your health, all while supporting the industry and the people who make it so special.

This year focusing on the importance of reconnection, support and community as a positive wellbeing tool, it’s time to dust off your walking shoes and walk side by side in support of one another. Get involved in your nearest walk, or participate any time between Saturday 10 October (World Mental Health Day) – Sunday 25 October and ‘Walk It Your Way’ from any location.

Let’s walk the walk and make a positive difference together.

Every team has someone like her – the one who quietly holds everything together.

What you don’t always see is the pressure she’s under beyond the job: money worries, family stress, sheer exhaustion.

You can’t be there for every 3pm slump or 3am wobble. But you can make sure that when she needs help, she isn’t facing it alone.

An Employee Assistance Programme built by hospitality, for hospitality gives your team confidential counselling, emotional support and practical advice when life feels too heavy.

Hospitality can ask a lot from people - especially those quietly supporting everyone else behind the scenes.

Our upcoming event at The Grand Birmingham on 8 June is creating space for those conversations, bringing together hospitality professionals for an evening of honest discussion, practical insight and supportive networking. 🤝

With expert mental health guidance from Emma Keeble and industry perspective from Matt Davies, this is set to be a powerful and valuable evening for anyone who’s ever found themselves being their team’s accidental counsellor.

Spaces are now very limited, so if you’d like to be part of this amazing event, now’s the time to secure your free place.

Join us on Monday 8 June, 4:30pm – 6:30pm at The Grand Birmingham for complimentary drinks, canapés and meaningful conversation with peers across the industry. 🥂

This time last year super-supporter .gilbana was about to embark on the challenge of a lifetime by trekking the entire 2,700-mile England Costal Path in our honour. 🚶🏼‍♀️❤

Through every twist and turn Maya met amazing hospitality heroes and raised vital awareness and funds for our work. 👊

Maya’s epic challenge reminds us that no matter what life throws at us, hospitality people across the UK are never alone. 🫂
