Last night, under the chimes of Big Ben, we brought together policymakers, educators, young people, and leaders from the financial and business sectors to mark 💰

We heard from Blair McDougall MP, The Minister for Small Business and Economic Transformation, who shared how important it is for young people to understand money and what an important skill it is when venturing into entrepreneurship. We also heard from YE alum and Amanda Hack MP , and Rt Hon John Glen MP, former Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Co-Chair of the APPG on Financial Education for Young People—reinforcing the urgent need to prioritise financial education across the UK for every age, and every stage of education.

It was great to hear straight from students from Osmani Primary School, Stockport School and Northampton School for Boys on the impact financial education has had (and will have) on them. As well as insights from Jose Carvalho Head of Retail Banking and Wealth at HSBC UK who has kindly supported this year's .

At Young Enterprise, we believe every young person should leave school with the knowledge and confidence to manage their money. Yet today, only 50% of young people feel they’ve learned these vital skills at school.

With featuring so heavily in the government’s Financial Inclusion Strategy and National Curriculum reforms, last nights conversations were a big step forward for future generations, ensuring every child and young person has the right to high‑quality financial education.

Join us this to keep the conversation going and help build the foundations for a generation of more financially confident young people 👉 https://www.young-enterprise.org.uk/what-we-do/programmes/my-money-week

🎙️ From the assembly hall to the airwaves!🎙️

Yesterday, during , we not only hosted our live National Money Assembly with Martin Lewis CBE ( MoneySavingExpert.com ) at St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College , but the young people took their voice beyond the assembly hall and into the national conversation on on BBC Radio London.

Students Shiv and Nadine, alongside their teacher Ms Thornton, were interviewed by BBC Radio’s Nisha Patel – sharing their reflections on the assembly and their views on budgeting, managing money, and why financial education matters for every young person.

💬Nadine "something stood out to me that Martin Lewis said was that you can have a good investment that can have a bad outcome, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it was a good investment initially".

💬Shiv learned that "Debt can actually be used to your advantage, not all debt is bad debt, it can be good debt too"

After this, our CEO Sarah Porretta also joined the show, speaking on the importance of embedding into the curriculum across the UK in both primary and secondary schools. "Be more Finland! Because Finland have set a national ambition to be the best country in the world for Financial Education... I want us to do that!"

Together, we’re building a generation ready to make informed financial decisions. 💡

“Do you think money actually makes people happy?”... “Is it worth saving for a house from a young age?”... “How do you decide what is the best possible bank for you?”

These are just some of the questions from students from across the country during our first-ever National Money Assembly—live in front of 350 students at St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College, around 300 schools joining live from across the UK—from the Isle of Wight to Edinburgh.

Kicking things off, Martin Lewis CBE (MoneySavingExpert.com) had the room buzzing—getting students involved in an interactive game, making them rethink their spending habits, and putting their scam-spotting skills to the test.

He then took to the audience to answer some questions young people from across the country had about, money, pensions, the cost of further education and how to save wisely, alongside our CEO Sarah Porretta.

What a way to launch — the UK’s national week for financial education 🙌

Whether you are a school, youth group, charity or supporter you too can join in on the action, there is still time to sign up to My Money Week: https://www.young-enterprise.org.uk/what-we-do/programmes/my-money-week

Every young person deserves the chance to see what their future could look like.

Continuing our celebration of , we’re proud to recognise Krzysztof’s Pathways to Progress journey - a powerful example of the impact National Grid is creating through its commitment to bridging the gap between education and the world of work. What started as a classroom workshop in Greenwich, supported by National Grid volunteers has now developed into an exciting opportunity within National Grid’s Strategic Infrastructure (SI - HWUP) Business Unit, giving Krzysztof valuable insight into the world of work and the energy sector. 🧡

Today, on , we’re proud to recognise our incredible supporters.
Through your commitment, we’re working together to break down barriers and create meaningful opportunities for young people, particularly in areas where support is needed most. Your commitment helps connect young people with working world experiences, role models, and the skills and confidence need to succeed.

"Social mobility is about ensuring that a young person's future is determined by their potential, not their background. Young Enterprise does exactly that by equipping young people with the skills, confidence and real-world experiences that help turn aspiration into opportunity. Through its programmes, barriers are broken down, and futures are opened up."
Paul Modley, Chair of the Social Mobility Leaders Forum.

To all our supporters, thank you for championing social mobility and for investing in the next generation. You enable us to make a lasting difference by raising aspirations, building self-belief, and opening doors to futures that may have once felt out of reach. 🧡
