🙏Thank you SO much to Sarah the wonderful ladies of the Knit and natter group who's amazing creations and delicious cakes raised an amazing £732.39 at their 5th annual sale at the Blackheath Standard Library.
🎟🛒The funds raised will helps us to purchase things like bus tickets to help guests attend house viewings or towards our weekly food shop so we can provide a lovely breakfast and lunch for those experiencing homelessness right here in Royal Borough of Greenwich. It was such a lovely afternoon, meeting members of the community who came to donate and chat about Greenwich Homeless Project with many hoping to join us a Volunteers at our shelter in Eltham.

It’s one of our absolute favourite times of the year because we get to shout about the incredible people who make the Greenwich Homeless Project what it is — our amazing volunteers 🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏼

Volunteers like Carole - who tells us her lovely story here: https://greenwichhomelessproject.org.uk/2026/06/03/its-volunteersweek2026-and-were-celebrating-you-%f0%9f%92%ab/

Every single person who gives their time — whether it’s cooking meals, cleaning, offering a listening ear, running clubs and workshops, gardening, painting, or simply sharing a warm welcome — is an essential part of our community.

We genuinely couldn’t do any of this without you.

You bring kindness, energy, and heart into everything you do, and that makes all the difference to the people we support.

So from all of us at GHP — thank you.
We appreciate every moment you give 💛

Happy !

So lovely to welcome Tyler Halliday from COOK who came to visit to see the impact that their kind weekly donations of delicious home cooked food has on the guests who come to Greenwich Homeless Project. We are so honored to be one of the Charities that they support, and their friendship represents more than just food. They provide a chance for people from so many different walks of life to come together to enjoy a shared meal in our homely centre, to chat, to laugh, or just simply have some company when eating, and have a someone to turn to and say... “ooh, this is tasty!” The Day centre guests and those staying overnight in our 14 room night shelter enjoyed the tasty Lamb Tagine and Tyler did a great job helping volunteers to serve lunch! Thank you to Miran for introducing us to COOK over 2 years ago and to Ollie and the team in the Blackheath store for assisting us every week 🙏

It was a normal busy Friday at Greenwich Homeless Project. Guests from our day centre, (and newly opened spring/summer homeless prevention pilot) enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by volunteers and received advice from our wonderful casework team. Then....around 20 of our newly elected Royal Borough of Greenwich councillor's popped in to see first hand the work we do here at Middle Park Avenue. We were so busy showing our visitors around that we forgot to get a photo of the occasion... but just managed to get this great action shot of them setting off for their next engagement aboard their 'Councillor's On Tour' bus! Thank you for coming everyone and we look forward to working with you and welcoming you back soon 🖐

And of course, huge congratulations to our very own volunteer caseworker and now councillor Jane Dickenson for her successful election in the Eltham Page ward. 👏

Together we truly can help those in our borough experiencing homelessness on to new beginnings. 🙏

Big thanks to Louis Colley and Charlie Nicole Uddin for all their support with our new Homeless Prevention Pilot which is now in its 3rd week with all 14 rooms providing shelter for those at risk of homelessness every week.

*Breaking News * Today, for the very first time in our history, Greenwich Homeless Project is proud to say that, thanks to funding from the Sub-Regional Rough Sleeping Prevention and Recovery Grant... our night shelter doors are now going to be open for people experiencing homeless EVERY SINGLE MONTH OF THE YEAR. The new Spring/Summer shelter joins our already established Winter Night Shelter.

This means that between:🌞 April - October (spring/summer season)
and ❄️October - April (autumn/winter season) those in need of overnight safety, shelter and advocacy will have access to our 14 single occupancy rooms.

🤝 We've recruited an additional caseworker and an operations coordinator to make sure we can support every client on their journey to long term, stable accommodation as swiftly as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for us to play our part in reaching the government's ambitious goal of halving the number of people rough sleeping in this parliament. Massive thanks to Louis Colley Royal Borough of Greenwich for his support and guidance in making this happen.
