Is loneliness the new normal? With our means of connection changing over the last few years, we can all find ourselves feeling lonely at times.

Check out this blog by Togetherall's Chief Clinical Officer, Ben Locke, PHD., where he provides his tips for dealing with feelings of loneliness and isolation.

We're delighted to see that the weather is warming up across the UK, however it also brings increased risks of UV exposure.

For fishermen, that risk is heightened by long hours at sea and high levels of sun exposure, combined with limited access to routine dermatological care.

That's why we have partnered with the team at Compass House Medical Centres, to run a skin cancer screening & skin health awareness project for local fishermen.

We are running a series of 3 hour clinics to help identify potential skin cancers early, and promote awareness within the local fishing community about the risks of harmful levels of UV exposure, and how you can stay sun safe at sea!

Confirmed Dates...

• 25th June
• 10th September
• 12th November

Follow our social channels for more information about these events, and for more information on skin cancer and how you can manage your risk!

For fishermen like Jess, the realities of working at sea mean that it can be incredibly difficult to find time for dental appointments!

With long hours and time spent away at sea, it can be all to easy to neglect oral health! That’s why we are proud to work with Dentaid The Dental Charity and the Fishermen's Mission to take vital dental services directly to the fishing community on the quayside.

Dentaid’s state-of-the-art mobile surgeries provide a range of free and accessible dental services and immediate treatment for fishers, and their families as part of our health events.

Celebrating Pride! 🌈

This month, we are celebrating pride month as we continue to push for greater diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the maritime sector.

SHS support the LGBTQ+ community everywhere, standing against all forms of homophobia and bigotry, which many people continue to face all too often.

We remain committed to providing health and welfare support to all seafarers, regardless of gender or sexuality!

Today we're at London's iconic Trinity House, where we are joined by maritime leaders, health experts and industry stakeholders, as we continue to develop our Best Practice KPI framework — helping to create measurable, practical ways to improve seafarer health, wellbeing and welfare across the maritime sector.

By establishing meaningful benchmarks and sharing best practices, the sector can strengthen its culture of care and drive lasting positive change for those working at sea.

Are you a fisherman in Wales? Help is at hand for those niggling aches and pains!

We know that fishing is one of the UK's most challenging jobs and unfortunately, the number of work-related injuries are high. Left untreated, injuries can worsen over time and result in chronic pain, and even prevent individuals from working!

That's why we have partnered with Fishermen's Mission, Welsh Fishermen's Association - Cymdeithas Pysgotwyr Cymru, Welsh Government and Seafish to offer working fishermen access to FREE, FAST-TRACK physiotherapy at a range of convenient locations across Wales.
