This time next week Elizabeth and I will have spent the day with Carmen Pericleanu at Asociatia Milo Tulcea shelter and these gorgeous guys, all of whom are looking for a home. We will be giving them plenty of cuddles, but that's no substitute for a human of their own.

TEAM TRIP TO TULCEA ⛴️🚄🚕✈️

This time next week I will be in Romania in Tulcea (travel gods willing) with my travel buddy Elizabeth 😊

We are meeting up with Andreea Barbu and heading back to see Carmen Pericleanu and Burduja Trifan Ionela and catch up with the dogs rescued from Daeni 🩵.

And, never one to miss a fundraising opportunity (😀) I thought I'd ask for donations so that we can top up the food cupboard whilst we are there. We have raised £90 so far, which pays for approximately 150kg of food (it's actually £108 for 150kg but I never claimed to be good at arithmetic 🤣). It takes 35kg of food per day to feed Ionela's dogs. You do the math 😬

So we would love to raise a bit more.

Total just to get to Constanta and back £226.18. And that's without paying for extra luggage & with senior discount 😬

Whilst we've been busy trying to help with the dogs from Daeni and getting The Artemis Crew to the UK, we've akso been working away in the background getting Aris prepped for his trip.

Aris is amongst the very first group of dogs that was rescued back in 2018 before we became Stray2Me. He and his sister Ava have been constantly overlooked for a home, so we made the decision to approach a sanctuary in Holland, and they have very kindly agreed to take Aris. He will travel in November. It is the same sanctuary that took our gorgeous boy Prince in March 2024.

Having looking back at the videos and photos of Ava and Aris over the years so that I could make this post has been heartbreaking. But it's time for Aris to move on to a comfortable retirement. We can't ask for more 🩵

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who donated to help the dogs from Daeni. We raised £1860. The first £1000 was sent to Burduja Trifan Ionela and Carmen Pericleanu to meet the immediate needs, and the rest was sent to cover vet bills for Kalla, Malina, Villy, Ghetu and Bella. We also had separate donations for Star (who now has a sponsor) and Mox. We have a sponsor for Atena (the last dog out of that hellhole) and a partial sponsor for Tiago. So a fantastic response.

This time next week Elizabeth and I will be on a ✈️ heading to Romania (a fair wind and the transport gods willing) so we get to meet these lucky dogs, and, somewhat sadly, catch up with dogs I met in April.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who already sponsors a dog. Without your regular monthly donations it would not be possible to keep our dogs safe.

This last couple of weeks have seen a number of new arrivals to the 2 rescuers that we try and help in Tulcea, dogs taken out of horrendous conditions in the Daeni kill shelter. With the help of other UK based rescues and rescues based in Germany and Holland, the vet bills for most of the 33 rescued dogs have been paid. But now they need to be fed, and receive regular flea and worm treatment whilst they are waiting to be noticed by an adopter.

Will you help us to keep them safe please? We need approximately £40 per dog to feed them on a monthly basis.

You can sponsor a dog for any amount, and you can cease sponsorship whenever you choose.

If the dog you are sponsoring is adopted, we will let you know and you can either choose a new dog to sponsor, or cease sponsorship at that point.

Some dogs will need sponsoring for longer than others, but you choose how long you wish to sponsor for.

Watch out for individual posts for dogs that need sponsoring, or message Stray2Me Rescue and we'd be happy to discuss dogs that need your help.

World Animal Day and approximately 4000 people have attended a rally in Bucharest calling for an end to the barbaric system that allows dogs to be killed for money. In attendance 3 of the rescuers that we help - from Asociata Milo, .ionela26 from Asociatia Victoria Tulcea and .barbu.792 from ELM - Every Life Matters. 🩵
