Just a few photos of Nala as she wishes you a happy Monday. As you can see she's not overly impressed with the harness, but baby steps 😊 Nala loves being with the other dogs, so if you are looking to help heal a soul then please get in touch. Nala needs a quiet place to land, somewhere with a resident dog or dogs and a garden. It is costing the rescue Β£300 a month to keep Nala in a home boarding type situation, money which we could be using to help dogs in need in Romania, so we really would like to find Nala a home to call her own. Another happy post. We have 2 travellers on the Happy Bus 🚌 this week, and both dogs that I met when I was in Romania in April, so it's super exciting πŸ˜€

Bubu is our older lady. Andreea Barbu and I met her when we went to say hi to her friend Bernie, who has already travelled and is having a great life in the South West. Bubu is a dear, affectionate girl and it was so sad to leave Romania thinking she hadn't been chosen, but she's been spotted by an existing adopter and long term supporter, so we are extremely happy. Watch this space for updates on Bubu, who once her paws touch ground in the UK, if her adopter ever stops cuddling her πŸ˜„, will be called Loulou. πŸ’™

Bonnie is a very affectionate younger girlie, found as a puppy abandoned by the side of the road along with her brother. Bonnie too will be living in the South West with the daughter of an existing adopter (we love these family affairs πŸ˜€) and she is going to be soooo loved πŸ’™ Bonnie will have a new name for the start of her new and very happy life. So watch this space for updates on Kiki.

Safe travels girls. Definitely a better life ahead for you both 🩡

We have had to write a number of Rainbow Bridge posts recently, so our posts this Sunday are going to be happy posts. Let's start with a Happy Tails post. Amber from Burduja Trifan Ionela, now Wensley and living in the South West of England since July 2025. Below is what her family wrote:

Wensley is the most wonderful dog we could ever have hoped for. Adopted from Romania, she has brought so much happiness and love into our lives. While every dog brings joy to a family, Wensley has made our home brighter, and fluffier! She has gracefully embraced all the creature comforts of being a loved house pet, from proudly wearing one of the multiple outfits we have for her, to rummaging through her baskets of toys to find the perfect one to play with.

Having a pet who is also a rescue from another country makes her place in our home feel even more meaningful. As a family of immigrants, we understand what it means to move to a new country and begin a new chapter. While Wensley's journey is, of course, very different from our own, caring for her with patience and helping her settle into a new home has felt deeply familiar. She has brought immense love and joy into our lives, and her story makes her feel even closer to our family.

If you're thinking about adopting a dog, we wholeheartedly recommend adopting through Stray2Me Rescue . Thanks to them, we found the piece that was missing from our family and we will always be grateful for the love and happiness Wensley has brought into our lives. Giving a rescue dog a second chance has been one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable, and we couldn't encourage it more.

🌈 Daphne 01.06.2018 ~ 23.07.2026

With immense sadness we share the news that Daphne has crossed the rainbow bridge. Whilst shocking, we are pleased that she did not suffer. She took ill on the 22nd July and the vet diagnosed a tumour on her spleen. It was during surgery the next day that she crossed the rainbow bridge. Her adopters are truly devastated.

I still remember Daphne and her siblings being rescued as puppies, the rescuer rooting around in the hedge by the side of a busy suburban street in Constanta. And then watching the puppies grow up in the shelter until they were all eventually adopted in the UK.

Although her time was much shorter than we would have wished, Daphne was ultimately one of the lucky ones. She was adored by her adopters, who understood how to support Daphne in those early days when she was adjusting to life away from the shelter. With love, encouragement and patience they built a happy life for Daphne. She used to go on adventures. One such adventure was unauthorised when the window cleaner left the side gate open 😬 We were all having kittens, but after taking herself for a walk for a couple of hours, she came home all by herself. She knew where she belonged. Now her ashes rest in the garden, amongst the heather, with little lights so she is never in the dark.

Our thoughts are with David and Kelly, and we thank them for the love and the life they gave Daphne. Sleep tight baby girl πŸ’”

πŸ’™πŸΎ GINA (IB) – LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME πŸΎπŸ’™

✨ Could you be the happy ending Gina has been waiting for? ✨

Gina's life changed forever in September 2025 when she was rescued from the public kill shelter in Tulcea, Romania. πŸ’” Thanks to that rescue, she has a second chance... but what she dreams of most is a family of her very own. 🏑❀️

Gina is a beautiful, curious, affectionate girl with a heart full of love. She adores people and is wonderfully friendly with dogs of every shape and size. She currently shares her shelter with eight other dogs, and her rescuer says she is one of the easiest girls to care forβ€”gentle, well behaved and never shows any aggression. πŸ•πŸ’•

Although she's safe now, shelter life can never replace the warmth of a loving home. Gina deserves to know what it's like to curl up on a comfy bed, enjoy walks with her family, and race around her own secure garden with pure joy. πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈπŸΎ

Gina tested positive for heartworm after her rescue, but the good news is that she has completed her treatment and is now ready to begin the next chapter of her life. πŸ’ͺ❀️

Mum Matilda, Glover, Hammock, Chrissie, Artemis and Jeremy have all left the shelter and only poor Reid remains. But thanks to our friends at Rescue and Rehome a Buzau Soul (RABS) Reid has a place in UK kennels, from where he will be rehomed, just like his siblings.

🎯 £370 will get him a place on transport and his mandatory Brucella tests.

πŸ€” Can you help please?

This is his best chance at getting the comfortable and safe life he deserves, but we cannot get him on the Happy Bus without your help. We've had a few requests for funds recently, and you've stepped up, and we don't take that for granted. But with dogs in UK kennels eating into our general funds, and with trying to support the rescuers in Romania with food and to cover vet bills, we've had to rely on appeals and your generosity. Please find it in your hearts (and bank balances) to help Reid. Donation details below πŸ‘‡

The cutie pie Pearl and the super gorgeous Ala are already booked on the September Happy Bus, but we would sincerely love Verra, Forest and Lacky to join them. Can you offer one of these beautiful souls a place to call home? They have all been waiting a couple of years or more to be noticed, and they are such gentle, kind dogs.

Please check out their individual profiles on our website πŸ‘‡ and please message us for more information, or, better still, fill out a form to adopt or foster. 🩡
