We are aware of the email that was sent out to the members of the Arborfield, Barkham and District Branch in relation to the administration of the Branch. This was due to the current committee no longer wishing to be part of the committee and not submitting the paperwork to form a committee. This is in part due to the many issues we have faced in trying to submit the Branch accounts with very little support from the RBL.

In adition to the above in 2025 many local veterans and serving military attended the club for the club SGM. During this meeting the veterans and serving military were told to f**k off out of the club and "barred", which was witnessed by the Berkshire County Chair who said and did nothing.

Even after the meeting the County Chair did not reach out to anyone present to offer apologies or support.

Since 2025 we have had many complaints about the behaviour at the club.

We have had local religious leaders asked by club committee members to promote alcohol deals during a remembrance service.

We have had club staff contact us because they have not been paid their wages.

We have had to deal with inappropriate comments made by male club committee members to young females in the presence of their parents.

We had to deal with the club committee banning their own secretary from the club because she challenged the poor behaviour and then refused to let her collect her personal belongings.

Companies contacting us because the club have not paid their bills.

This list is not exhaustive, but as military veterans serving personnel, parents of young families and volunteers, we no longer with good conscience can be seen to support an organisation whose members behave in this manner.

We will of course still be in the local area, supporting veterans and local youth organisations in their endeavours to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

BEACON ALERT - MISSING SERVICE PERSON

Ryan Rudd, 28, from Selby, is missing with serious concerns for his welfare. He was last seen the early hours of Sunday 15 February.

North Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal and are actively searching for Ryan, after he failed to return home or to his barracks in Catterick Garrison when expected.

Ryan was last seen at the New Inn in Selby in the early hours of Sunday 15 February after going on a night out with two friends on Valentine’s night.

Since then he has been out of contact with family, friends and colleagues we are very concerned for his safety.

Ryan is described as white, around 5ft 8in tall, of slim build with dark brown hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a black t-shirt, blue hooded top and black trousers. CCTV images in this post show Ryan on the night he was last seen.

Anyone who may have seen him in Selby on 14/15 February or has seen him since then, or has any information that might help locate him, should contact North Yorkshire Police as a matter of urgency.
