Have you spotted the lovely pair of Great Crested Grebes, elegantly gliding or diving by the riverside walk ? Today, the Great Crested Grebe is on the UK’s Green List – the lowest level of conservation concern. These birds came close to extinction in the late 1800s when the overwhelming demand for feathered headwear was driving species to the brink. The Plumage Prohibition, the RSPB’s first campaigning success, was passed in 1921. #❤️ourparks

LBM or ‘Little Brown Mushrooms’ aka Brown Mottlegill hiding in the grass.

The mushrooms you see are just the fruiting bodies of a much larger underground network. It's best to leave these fungi be so they can complete their lifecycle and release spores helping biodiversity in our park.
