Some more shots from the PSYCH Symposium earlier this month! 🌿

The panel “The Jungle vs the Journal” explored what Western science can learn from indigenous wisdom and practices, reminding us there’s still so much more to learn. For us at HHPUK, the active role of nature, peer support and community is central to everything we do.

Hosted by our Research Director , the discussion featured our CEO , Advisory Board and .io member .netzband , and Satya who shared personal journeys, compelling evidence and powerful transformation stories from psychedelic therapy practice.

What an inspiring day at PSYCH Symposium in London.

We’re grateful to PSYCH and Drug Science for hosting such a thoughtful, insight-packed and meaningful gathering.

It was an honour for HHPUK to be part of the conversation – not just to speak, but to listen. Yesterday brought together people who are working at the forefront of psychedelic science and care across Europe and beyond. The depth of dialogue, curiosity, and shared commitment to progress was genuinely energising.

Events like this remind us how essential it is to take time to learn, connect, challenge assumptions, reflect, and work together to build a future grounded in evidence, compassion, and collaboration.

We are proud to stand alongside so many people working tirelessly in this space – and we’re excited about what comes next.

🌿The Courage to Feel Again: Psychedelic Pathways to Healing After Trauma🌿

Healing after military sexual trauma (MST), harassment, or bullying is never a straight road. In a recently published .assist article, CEO Tony Wright explores how research into psychedelic-assisted therapy offers new healing pathways for survivors when guided with care, legality, and trauma-informed support.

The piece highlights our work at Heroic Hearts Project, our veteran-led programmes that provide safe and culturally attuned spaces for recovery. It also reflects our shared belief that healing is not one-size-fits-all, but rooted in consent, preparation, and community.

We’re proud to stand alongside organisations like Forward Assist, who have spent over a decade providing bespoke services and launched .uk as a stand-alone charity in 2021 for women veterans. Together, we’re helping veterans rediscover connection, courage, and hope. 💜

We’re proud to have our work featured in the latest File on 4 Investigates episode, which examines the scale of gambling in the armed forces and its impact.

The programme also highlights our most recent retreat in the Netherlands, where beneficiaries took part in psilocybin-assisted therapy to address gambling disorder and begin their journey towards recovery.

A paramedic with the Scottish Ambulance Service and recently appointed Green Champion, Sharon promotes sustainable, natural healing.

With a certificate in Psychedelics, Altered States & Transpersonal Psych (ALEF Trust) and a passion for improving mental health, she advocates for psychedelic healing in frontline workers. 🌱✨

In April, three Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics joined us in Peru for an Ayahuasca retreat at .medicina.peru (Yes, we serve all emergency services too. Not just military veterans).

In this excellent podcast episode, Professor David Nutt talks to them about their experiences.

They discuss their personal journeys, occupational burnout and even touch on the need for a compassionate access programme here in the UK, which is music to our ears.

We’ve wrapped up an incredible week in the Netherlands with Heroic Hearts Project UK, offering a legal psychedelic (psilocybin) retreat designed specifically for veterans and emergency service personnel facing gambling challenges.

The courage, honesty, and camaraderie shared in this space were truly inspiring. Each participant’s journey contributes to vital research on psychedelic-assisted healing and to breaking down stigma around mental health and recovery.

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported this mission. Your courage and openness are helping advance understanding of psychedelic therapies for those who’ve served. 💙
