Kinetika Bloco

Kinetika Bloco Youth Organisation - Professionals and Young people coming together to create a spectacular show of l Just so you know, the fun doesn't stop at summer school.

The Kinetika Bloco is a performance group with an exuberant mix of young brass and woodwind players, drummers and dynamic dancers all in costume creating a unique new British Carnival sound with a decidedly London edge. We draw our influences from the Caribbean, Brazil, West and Southern Africa, New Orleans jazz, Funk and Hip Hop. Our members create the work with a team of professional tutors and help to lead the organization. In the last few years we have represented London as part of the 'Beijing 2008' Olympic Cultural Festival, as well as performing at the London Jazz Festival, Thames Festival, The South Bank and at the Unveiling of the Nelson Mandela Statue at Parliament Square. Your membership in the Bloco can last for a year....or forever! The show we create is normally toured throughout the year, so if you've attended the summer school, you will be invited to performances!

✨A Taste of Bloco✨

We are running a 4-day programme during the October half-term, giving young people the opportunity to experience Kinetika Bloco in a slower-paced, more relaxed environment.

This inclusive space is designed to support wellbeing, with smaller group numbers and additional staff on hand to help you learn and take part at your own pace.

It’s open to young people who would like to get a taste of Kinetika Bloco’s activities, with the chance to experience Dance, Steel Pans and Samba Drums.
It’s a low-pressure opportunity to develop your musical skills, find your creative spark and connect with others in a warm and welcoming community.

No previous experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm!

This time last week some of our young people shared the stage with our one and only Ezra Collective alongside some other Bloco alumni and big names on the music scene at the Roundhouse !! It was an evening to remember for sure!🤩 They also got to witness the magic of Jme BBK Lila Iké Yazmin Lacey pa_salieu which was super cool✨

MASSIVE congratulations are also in store for the EZ boys, with “Here Because of Hope” topping UK charts - what an amazing achievement!🥇 We wanted to take this opportunity to thank them all for everything they do supporting youth music and giving charities like us a platform! The performances we’ve had the joy to be a part of because of the collective have shown our young people what is possible and the true power of community in music.

Thank you for taking us on this journey with you all, we cannot wait to see what is next.

EZ to the world 🌍❤️

Massive thank you to Garfield Weston, who are funding us for another 2 years!🌟

This grant will be going towards our core costs; with a focus on increasing opportunities for our Leadership Programme cohort and developing the management of our Youth Board. We want to ensure that our young people’s voices are shared across the organisation and they are all equipped with skills for the future. 🗣️

It’s funding like this that makes it possible for us to nurture our young people and provide them with all sorts of different opportunities!

Thank you thank you Garfield Weston Foundation !!❤️
