Tapestry of Black Britons is a touring art project that's inspiring people to see Britain's past in a new way.

It brings the histories of Black Britons to life through striking woven and embroidered artworks, taking inspiration from the Bayeux Tapestry and African Caribbean weaving traditions. 🎨

Thanks to The National Lottery funding, the project is reaching even more people across the UK. 🤝

It's just one of the National Lottery-funded projects we're celebrating this Black History Month.

FREE cinema tickets are up for grabs. 🎬

To celebrate the 24th anniversary of 24 Hour Party People, BFI-backed and National Lottery-funded Escape To The Cinema is giving away free tickets ahead of the film’s re-release in cinemas in October.

24 Hour Party People tells the story of Manchester's iconic music scene, from the birth of punk in the late ’70s to the rise of rave culture in the early ’90s.

The film follows Factory Records founder Tony Wilson and the artists who defined a generation, including Joy Division, New Order and Happy Mondays.

Thanks to The National Lottery players, these screenings are completely free. ✅

Deaf rapper and producer, Signkid, is transforming how we experience music, and highlighting the importance of Deaf representation in music.

Kevin Walker, aka Signkid, creates art that connects communities using British Sign Language and UK Sign Slang to make live music performances accessible to everyone.

His Arts Council England supported short film, Silent World, uses rap and sign language to tell stories that matter, giving voice to experiences that deserve to be heard and seen. 🎵

Since 2024, Escapes has distributed 250,000 free cinema tickets, helping more people experience the magic of the big screen without cost being a barrier. 🍿

The Great British Beach Clean is back! Bringing local communities together to protect our coastlines and marine life. 🌊

Organised by the Marine Conservation Society, hundreds of beaches across the UK are being cleaned by thousands of volunteers from 18-27 September.

Any litter collected on the beaches helps to improve data and conservation work to make a positive impact on our ocean, including banning microplastics in personal care products, supporting a tax on single-use plastic items, and much more thanks to their work.

According to research by Women in Sport, 1.3 million girls who once loved sport drop out during their teenage years.

That’s why visible role models matter. They inspire girls to stay involved and show them that they belong in sport.

We’re proud to back our athletes as they smashed it at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest.
