The Fonteyn offers a unique opportunity for teachers to connect, develop their knowledge and gain valuable insight into the pathways that support aspiring performers.

Alongside this year's competition, we're offering two Time-Valued Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses, open to all teachers, where you'll have the chance to observe coaching sessions, hear from experienced professionals, and deepen your understanding of the Bedells Bursary and Solo Seal.

Why Dance Matters with Alicia Graf Mack, Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater 🌟

Alicia danced with the company from 2005-14, and was mentored by Ailey’s own star dancer, Judith Jamison.

Previously a principal ballerina at Dance Theatre of Harlem, more recently she was Dean & Director of Dance at Juilliard School.

Now as Director at Ailey, Alicia nurtures company’s legacy and brings new works that connect with today’s audiences.

The company is fired by lyrical dance, and also by a commitment to social justice and as a platform for Black artists. We speak to Alicia as the company prepares to visit Sadler’s Wells in London.
