This summer, Cecilia “Ceci” Cole was featured in Sidelines magazine, an equestrian lifestyle magazine devoted to the people and personalities that make the horse world exciting. In the article, Ceci opened up about her journey as an equestrian who also has a visual impairment due to a genetic mutation on the RDH12 gene. 🏇

“One thing that really helped me was that I was a very bold and confident young rider from the beginning. I wasn’t afraid to try new things, go a little faster or jump bigger fences when my trainer asked. I’ve always trusted the horses I’ve been able to ride, and I think that confidence played a big role in my progress.”

Ceci is a rising junior and Equine Studies student at Centenary University in New Jersey. She is also on the school’s Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association team, the school’s Hunter/Jumper team, and serves as a marketing and editorial intern for Sidelines Magazine. Upon graduating, she plans to combine her passion for writing and media with her love of the equestrian industry. We can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes! 🌟

🏊‍♀️ Busy couple of weeks for Vicky!

She competed at both the Aquatics Great Britain Next Gen Championships and the Swim England National Championships as an S12 visually impaired swimmer.

We’re so proud that she made the final in all 7 of her races, achieved several personal bests, and loved racing alongside so many amazing para-athletes.

So proud of you, Vicky. Keep chasing your dreams! 💙

Last week, Owen officially achieved his Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award. 🏆💜

Owen achieved this award by raising money for Eyes on the Future under the volunteering section and completing other sections of the award, including a two-day expedition.

We are so proud of you, Owen! Thank you for all that you are doing for our community! 🌟

In case you missed it, bemyeyesapp, a free platform that connects blind and low-vision individuals with sighted volunteers and specialized AI assistants through live video and photo analysis, was front and center at our RDH12 conference this summer. 🌟🤝👁️

The company’s Chief Revenue Officer, Jesper Knutell, generously lent his time, giving attendees the opportunity to demo the app with the Meta glasses integration. 👓 Suffice to say, the demo was a hit!

Fun fact: Our very own CEO, Silvia Cerolini, has been a volunteer with the access technology provider for years!

Be My Eyes now has more than 9 million sighted volunteers and counting 🌎 and is now expanding into workplace accessibility. 👩‍💻💼🖥️
