Good food. Great company. Beautiful conversations.

No celebration of community is complete without food bringing people together - and our Unity Hub Glasgow Official Opening was no exception 😊

From delicious home-style dishes to shared laughter around the buffet tables at the Unity Hub Kitchen, it was wonderful to see people from different cultures, backgrounds, and communities sitting together, eating together, and connecting.

Because food does something special, it breaks barriers, starts conversations, and reminds us of something important:

Community begins around the table.

At Unity for Integration Project (UFIP), we believe belonging is created not just through programmes and projects, but through moments like these, moments of warmth, sharing, and genuine connection.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped prepare, serve, and share in the food on such a special day. Your support helped make the atmosphere feel welcoming, joyful, and truly community-centred.

Celebrating 11 Years of Unity for Integration Project (UFIP)

We celebrate 11 incredible years of Unity for Integration Project (UFIP) - 11 years of bringing people together, breaking barriers, empowering communities, and creating spaces of belonging.

What started as a vision to bring people from different cultures, backgrounds, and walks of life together has grown into a movement rooted in community, inclusion, wellbeing, empowerment, and hope.

Since our beginnings, we have been privileged to:
Support individuals and families from diverse communities
Promote integration, belonging, and cultural understanding
Deliver community events, workshops, and wellbeing programmes
Empower women, young people, and New Scots
Celebrate community champions through initiatives such as the Community Giants Awards
Create opportunities for connection, learning, and growth

The journey has not always been easy, but through resilience, partnership, and the unwavering belief that stronger communities are built when people come together, we have continued to grow and evolve.

And what a milestone to mark this anniversary with the opening of Unity Hub Glasgow - a new chapter and a permanent space for community connection, support, creativity, wellbeing, and opportunity.

To every volunteer, trustee, partner, supporter, participant, funder, friend, and community member who has been part of this journey - thank you. Your support, belief, and encouragement have helped shape UFIP into what it is today.

This is not just a celebration of the past 11 years - it is a celebration of the future we are continuing to build together.

💙 11 years of connecting communities and empowering lives - and we are only just getting started.

A Historic Milestone for Glasgow’s East End - Unity Hub Glasgow Officially Opens.

What an unforgettable day as we proudly celebrated the official opening of Unity Hub Glasgow, a brand-new community hub created to bring people together, empower lives, and strengthen communities across Glasgow and beyond.

The event brought together an incredible mix of community leaders, local organisations, supporters, volunteers, families, and residents from diverse backgrounds to celebrate a shared vision of inclusion, belonging, wellbeing, and opportunity.

We were honoured to welcome Paul Sweeney MSP as Guest of Honour, alongside Eze Chukwuemeka Ogbu (Eze Ndi Igbo na Glasgow), community partners, and supporters who joined us to mark this important milestone.

The opening featured:
A beautiful traditional Scottish bagpipe performance
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony
Community networking and partnership building
Live entertainment by Insubordinate
Guided tours of the new Hub

So, what is Unity Hub Glasgow?

Unity Hub Glasgow is more than just a venue - it is a welcoming community space designed to support integration, wellbeing, skills development, creativity, empowerment, and social connection.

The Hub will host:
Community events and cultural celebrations
Wellbeing and empowerment programmes
Workshops, training and mentoring
Support for New Scots, migrants, women, young people, and local communities
Creative and media opportunities
Meeting and collaboration spaces for organisations and community groups

At a time when many community spaces are disappearing, Unity Hub Glasgow exists to create connection, reduce isolation, and provide a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and empowered.

This milestone reflects the ongoing work of Unity for Integration Project (UFIP) - a Glasgow-based charity committed to connecting communities and empowering lives through inclusion, integration, wellbeing, advocacy, skills development, and community engagement.

To everyone who attended, volunteered, supported, encouraged, and believed in this vision - thank you.

Welcome to Unity Hub Glasgow - a place where communities connect, opportunities grow, and everyone belongs.
