Branching

Join us from 2pm this Saturday 15 August for the opening of Branching, our latest exhibition created in collaboration with Graphic Studio Dublin.

Bringing together six contemporary printmakers from Scotland and Ireland, Branching explores themes of growth, resilience and connection through the enduring presence of trees. Across etching, screenprint, woodcut, monotype, digital print and mixed media, the exhibition reveals trees as markers of place, memory and time, and as symbols of the invisible networks that connect landscapes, communities and creative practice.

Featuring work by Alistair Gow, Gregory Moore, Murray Robertson, Ailbhe Barrett, Cliona Doyle and Ed Miliano.

Now Open // Maya McMahon-Boon

Discover a bold new body of work by Glasgow-based artist and printmaker Maya McMahon-Boon in her first solo exhibition at Glasgow Print Studio.

Boon's practice is rooted in landscape, architecture and the structures that shape our surroundings. Through an intuitive yet highly refined printmaking process, she creates works that balance precision with experimentation, layering colour, mark-making and material to produce compositions that are both striking and quietly contemplative.

For this Featured Artist exhibition, Boon presents a new series of large-scale woodblock prints, combining contemporary laser-cutting techniques with traditional relief printing. Developed through repeated drawing, cropping and redrawing, the works explore the physicality of diagrams and the patterns found within both the built environment and the printmaking process itself.

A 2024 graduate of The Glasgow School of Art and recipient of the Glasgow Print Studio Prize, Boon has quickly established herself as one of Scotland's exciting emerging printmakers, with work now represented by galleries across the UK.

Now Open // Beyond

Beyond, a new solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Lin Chau, brings together a striking series of monoprints and chine-collé works inspired by recent residencies and travels across Scotland and Europe.

Working from direct observation, Chau captures changing skies, tidal rhythms and shifting light, transforming fleeting moments into layered prints that move between representation and abstraction. Delicate Xuan paper is combined with more substantial supports, reflecting an ongoing exploration of landscape, memory, materiality and the balance between intention and chance.

A graduate of The Glasgow School of Art, Chau has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally. Her work is held in public and private collections, and this new body of work offers a thoughtful meditation on landscape as both a physical place and an emotional experience.
