Bernie and Jim, supported at Hawthorn Cottage, are huge ABBA fans 💃✨ So when ABBA Voyage was extended, they booked a three-night trip to London!

With support from staff, they enjoyed first-class rail travel, London’s top attractions and plenty of exploring by bus.

We’re looking for a confident and motivated Team Leader to join Quarriers Carers Support Service in Moray, supporting unpaid carers of all ages and leading a dedicated team of Family Wellbeing Workers.

This is a varied and rewarding role where your leadership, communication skills and understanding of person-centred support can make a real difference to carers, families and communities across Moray.

Permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £30,655 per annum

A great session at our Aberdeen Carer Support Service’s Men’s Wee Blether group! 💬

Amanda, Senior Technician from Bon Accord Care’s Telecare Service, joined the group to demonstrate a range of telecare equipment, sparking plenty of questions and interest. 📱

The group were also delighted to be invited to the church’s community picnic later this month and are looking forward to getting involved! ☀️

🏃‍♂️ A huge thank you to Ian Murray! 🩵

On Saturday 13 June, Ian took on The Wall, completing an incredible 70-mile ultramarathon from Carlisle Castle to Gateshead in just 16 hours and 16 minutes, raising over £1,200 for Quarriers’ Lyssenmore Supported Living Service.

We loved welcoming Ian back to present his cheque to Fiona, Administrator at Lyssenmore. 🙌🏼

After such an incredible challenge, Ian is taking a well-earned break from training, but isn’t ruling out another challenge on the same scale next year! 👀

🐴 On 22 July, our Glasgow Connect Service welcomed Dani and Emma from Lunar Eclipse EFL Therapy Horses CIC Non Profit for a special visit with the people we support. ✨

They brought along Eeyore and Smarties, the certified therapy ponies, who spent time with everyone throughout the day.

There was a BBQ, music, dancing and games 🎉 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Jillian, William and Geraldine even overcame their initial fears and experienced the gentle, calming effect of the ponies.

The service is already looking forward to welcoming Eeyore and Smarties back for another visit in the future! 💜

Rhian, Sharon, Yvonne and Jaclyn, who are supported at our Quarriers Village Supported Living Service, recently enjoyed a girls’ holiday to Bendrigg Trust in the Lake District. 🏞️ Bendrigg Trust

Supported 1:1 by Nicole, Sarah, Mya and Fiona, this was the first time the four friends had been able to enjoy a holiday together, making it a huge achievement for everyone involved.

🛶 During their trip, they took part in lots of new activities, including canoeing, rock climbing, the zip wire, sensory swings, orienteering, caving, scavenger hunts, fire making and bike riding.

After such a fantastic adventure, the ladies are already looking forward to booking their next holiday together in 2027. 🌟

Our Quarriers Carer Support Service Moray recently hosted a Movement and Mobility session in Buckie, kindly delivered by Mollie from Project Neuro Ltd. 🏋🏼‍♀️

The session gave carers the opportunity to learn practical techniques and build confidence in supporting movement and mobility.

💪 Here’s what one carer had to say:

🇫🇷✨ Craig, who is supported at one of our Glasgow SOLE services, recently returned from the holiday of a lifetime in Paris with support worker David.

From magical meet and greets at Disneyland 🏰, breakfast with the princesses 👑 and sightseeing around Paris, including the Louvre, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe, to a relaxing boat trip along the Seine 🚤

And, in true Craig style… a cup of tea at the top of the Eiffel Tower! ☕

Here’s what Craig had to say:

Carol, who is supported at our Johnstone & Paisley SLI, recently travelled to Wemyss Bay Holiday Park for a fun-filled short break. 🤩🏖️

She enjoyed dinner and a night at the club, loved watching every dance, and even joined in herself. Carol was so excited when Lizzy came on stage and had her photo taken with her.

The next day, they visited Rothesay, enjoyed lunch, wandered around the shops, and on the ferry home, Carol’s shout of “Shark!” 🦈 made everyone laugh.
