Before the introduction of Mary's Meals, Trymore didn’t attend school on a regular basis. His education has not always been consistent because of the hunger and poverty he and his family constantly face.

Now that he receives a nutritious meal every school day, Trymore loves attending school and is enjoying his lessons. He says: “The porridge encourages me to come to school every day. When it’s time for eating, everyone runs to be the first in line.”

🎉 New regular gifts, TRIPLED! 🎉

In 2025, we fed more children than ever before.

As shown in our latest Impact Report, our work had a tremendous impact on children, their families and their communities in 2025.

✏️ Teachers reported that only 12% of children were able to focus on lessons before the meal. This increased to 97% after the meal.
📚 The average pass rate across schools in Malawi where children receive our meals increased from 72% before the school feeding programme to 80% after its introduction.
⛹️‍♀️ Only 12% of learners in Ethiopia said they played with friends at school every day before the school feeding programme. After meals were introduced, this increased to 58%.

Our school meals not only help to alleviate children’s immediate hunger – they also continue to improve their education and health, provide a safety net for families experiencing vulnerability, support community cohesion, and strengthen local food systems.

For young learners like Marlin, food changes the story. Since the introduction of Mary's Meals at her school in South Sudan, the 15-year-old has seen a tangible difference in herself and her classmates.

“After meals were brought to the school, the lives of children changed,” she tells us. “Before meals were given at school, we stayed without food until we went home. We felt hopeless and lazy in the classroom.”

Now, thanks to a meal every day at school, Marlin describes herself as "very happy, strong, and healthy." With renewed energy to learn, Marlin's future is looking brighter.
