Works have started on works to improve our toilets and upper areas.
The crucial first part was forming an opening in the upper block wall to access an old room, previously inaccessible. Thanks to Andrew Shepherd Construction for doing the hard work for us.

🎺🪗🎻I am currently looking for old or broken musical instruments to use as part of my interior design plan. We have already began some of our installations but need more pieces, the older and more unusual the better! Do you have any gathering dust you could donate to our music charity?

We are thrilled with our progress so far, but watch this space! the best is yet to come!

We are super excited to announce an amazing donation by Tesco Forfar of hoodies for our choir One Voice Forfar.
Thank you from each and every one of us for your generous sponsorship and support. Community charities like ours depend greatly on the generosity of our sponsors, and with our needs being wide spread, the support comes from many different places.
Our choir is nearly thirty strong we are extremely proud of all you all.
Your dedication and talent leave us astounded every week and we can't wait to share you with everyone at our first performance, the Forfar Christmas Lights Switch on.
This thoughtful contribution will truly help our members feel unified and comfortable during every upcoming performance. It is inspiring to see how community support can make such a positive impact on our musical journey. We are extremely grateful for this kindness, which provides our singers with a renewed sense of pride and belonging. Preparing for our show feels even more special now that we have these new outfits to wear together. Give Guitar a Go

🎸 Huge congratulations to our five incredible course graduates! 🎸

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the success of our recent Give Guitar a Go course.

We had a fantastic group of absolute beginners walk through our doors, pick up a guitar for the very first time, and completely knock it out of the park. Under the expert guidance of our tutor, Steven MacGregor, and with support from Joe Dailly, our students went from scratch to mastering:

Simple melodies 🎵
Their very first open chords 🎶
Fun, foundational rhythms 🥁

The entire course culminated in a practical jam session at the end, where everyone got to play together as a real band! Watching their confidence grow each week has been nothing short of inspiring.

We are also sending a massive shoutout and a speedy recovery to our sixth classmate who had to step away early due to a sports injury. We miss you and can't wait to have you back jamming with us! 🩹

A huge thank you to Steven, Joe, everyone who supported the classes, and our fantastic new guitarists. You rock! Keep strumming, keep practicing, and we can’t wait to see you back in the Music Rooms!

Well done everyone, we are off to a flying start with the, as yet unnamed FMG drum group. We meet last Saturday of the month 1pm till 3pm in the music rooms, new or old drummers welcome. This clip is based around a “traditional Forfar” drum pattern inspired by Paul 😀

🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP – URGENT SOS! 🚨

As you know, our leaky roof above the toilets is getting replaced very soon. Before the roofers can even start, we have to clear a jungle of branches, weeds, shrubs and brambles blocking the back of the shop.

The last couple of weeks, only TWO of us were down there hacking away. It is a huge job, and honestly, we can't do this alone. We desperately need more hands to get this cleared in time for the roofers! Which is less than a couple of weeks away.

We are going at it again next Friday, 2nd October from 10:00 AM to 14:00 PM.

Can you spare just one hour to help save our roof?

Every single bit of help makes a massive difference. If Friday doesn't suit, you are more than welcome to head down and tackle a patch on your own schedule whenever you have some free time this week.

🛠️ WHAT TO BRING: If you have sturdy gardening gloves, loppers, shears, saws, hatchets, or thick bags, please bring them along! Thorns are brutal. We also need help clearing the debris and taking it to the recyclers.
☕ WHAT WE PROVIDE: Endless tea, coffee, biscuits, and our absolute, massive appreciation!

Please drop a comment below or send us a DM if you can come down for an hour. Let’s get this sorted together, Forfar Music Group! 🤘🎶
