Today is the International Day of Rural Women.

Women are vital to rural development and food security in developing countries, yet it is often difficult for them to access land, credit, and agricultural markets.

We are working with Action for Rural Womens Empowerment (ARUWE) to provide vocational agricultural training to marginalised women in Uganda.

Participants will gain vital knowledge of agricultural practices, and learn the skills they need to build sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.

🌍11 October is the International Day of the Girl.

In the Nebbi District of rural Uganda, only 6% of girls complete primary school.

Time that they should be spending in the classroom is often spent fetching unsafe drinking water, as much as 3 hours' walk each way.💧

We are determined to remove these barriers to children's education.

Our work to install freshwater wells and boreholes changes the lives of the communities that desperately need them.

We're in the news! 🗞️💚

Our Pea Busters have made it into today’s Evening Telegraph! 🎉

This summer, children at the Roundhouse stepped back in time to discover Dundee’s chip shop history — from the origins of the city’s famous pea-buster to the story of how food became a cheap and filling staple for generations of Dundonians.

But it wasn’t just about history. It was about bringing people together, having fun and thinking about food in a different way — including how we can make the most of food that might otherwise go to waste.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the session happen, and to the Evening Telegraph for sharing the story with Dundee. 💚

🥾 Miles for Meals 🍽️

Meet Steph and Rosie, part of our Roundhouse Rescuers team—helping rescue surplus food from going to waste and turning it into nutritious meals for our community.

They're taking on the Kiltwalk with one goal in mind: to turn miles into meals.

For every mile our team walks, we'll provide 10 meals for people in our community.

Every donation helps us rescue more good food, reduce waste, and ensure more people have access to healthy, nutritious meals.
