Fergus and Cheryl attended the Social Enterprise Scotland Summit today representing Dundee Social Enterprise Network.

Fergus brought the day to a close by highlighting the work of Dundee Social Enterprise Network and the important role social enterprises play in supporting communities across the city.

A special thank you to Margaret from Dundee Stroke Exercise Club, one of our valued members, who shared her inspiring story of partnership working with fellow DSEN member Showcase The Street. Her presentation highlighted the power of collaboration and demonstrated how social enterprises and community organisations can work together to create meaningful change and improve lives.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising such an inspiring event. We look forward to continuing to champion and support Dundee’s vibrant social enterprise sector.

💡 Got an innovative idea that could change lives in Scotland? This could be the opportunity you've been waiting for!

Applications are now open for the Firstport Social Innovation Challenge 2026, supporting bold ideas that tackle some of Scotland's biggest social and environmental challenges.

🏆 One winner will receive a £30,000 grant plus tailored support to bring their idea to life.
🥈 Two finalists will each receive £10,000, along with additional guidance and connections to help develop their projects.

Firstport is looking for innovative solutions that address one of four key themes:
👨‍👩‍👧 Eradicating child poverty
💼 Growing the economy through inclusive employment opportunities
🌍 Tackling the climate emergency
🏥 Supporting high-quality and sustainable public services
Whether you're a social enterprise, community group, or simply someone with a great idea for positive change, this funding could help turn your vision into reality.

Kanzen for Life Community Open Day

This is an opportunity for local families, residents, members and partners to come along, see the new Centre, meet the team and connect with others in the community.
Throughout the day there will be tea and coffee, mini games, face painting and opportunities to learn more about the work of Kanzen for Life.

A number of FREE activity sessions will also be available:

Accessible functional fitness focused on movement, confidence and wellbeing.

11:15am – 12:15pm | Family Fitness
Fun and inclusive movement activities for all ages.

Girls-only multisport sessions in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.

Last week Fergus and Cheryl from DSEN had the opportunity to visit the new Kanzen for Life Centre and we were absolutely blown away by the space, the vision behind it, and the opportunities it will create for local people and communities.

The new centre is a fantastic investment in Dundee and reflects Kanzen for Life's ongoing commitment to supporting individuals to grow, develop, and reach their full potential. It is clear that every aspect of the facility has been designed with people and community at its heart.

On behalf of everyone at DSEN we would like to congratulate the entire Kanzen for Life team on this incredible achievement and wish them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact the centre will have across Dundee for many years to come.
