On Sunday, girls and their leaders from all sections came together at Reid Hall in Forfar to celebrate 100 Years of World Thinking Day in a truly special afternoon of reflection, friendship and fun. The hall was full, with nearly five hundred members attending!

The event brought the history of Girlguiding to life, as girls from every section proudly modelled uniforms from across the decades, showcasing how the organisation has evolved over the past century. Together, they explored the power of friendships that span generations and connect girls and young women across the world.

The celebrations were filled with energy and laughter, with highlights including campfire singing featuring songs from around the globe, and even some lively Bhangra dancing that had everyone on their feet.

To mark the occasion, every attendee received a special commemorative badge — a lasting reminder of a memorable day celebrating 100 years of World Thinking Day.

Remembrance Day 2025

Earlier this month, our Girlguiding units from across the county were proud to take part in Remembrance Day activities. From laying wreaths and joining parades to creating thoughtful poppy crafts and reflecting on the stories of those who served, girls from Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers showed true respect, courage, and kindness.

If you'd like to register your daughter to come and join the fun (Girlguiding is open to girls age 4-18) or to join our team of volunteers, please register on the Girlguiding website. www.girlguiding.org.uk

On Saturday around 150 Brownies from around Angus headed to Forfar Community Campus to take part in a Detective for a Day event. One of the Rangers/Young Leaders had ‘stolen’ a secret recipe and the girls had to use their detective skills to establish which one! Was Mabel, Gladys or Beryl guilty???
The girls investigated fingerprints & footprints found at the scene and learnt about ink chromatography to find the culprit, as well as finding out more about forensic science and doing some fun games to test their spy talents! The day was rounded up with some campfire songs.
Of course, there was a badge to commemorate the event too. And don’t worry, we didn’t arrest Beryl when she was found to be the culprit!
Thanks to all the volunteers who brought girls along and came to help run the activities.

Summer holidays are sadly over, but we're reminiscing about the adventures some of our Girlguiding Angus members had!

Take a look at some stories from over the summer holidays. We also can’t wait to see what all of our units get up to this term!

They joined over 300 guides and rangers for a five night activity camp at Fordell Firs in Fife. The activities included abseiling, crate building, caving and more! Sounds like a fun filled 5 days!
