📣 Celebrating 20 years of the Countryside Alliance Awards! The countryside has changed in many ways, but what has remained constant is the importance of the people at the heart of rural communities. The shopkeeper who knows everyone by name, the publican who keeps the village together, and the farmer producing food for the nation.

We are pleased to hear that the Scottish Emergency Heating Oil Scheme has been extended, potentially helping an estimated 169,000 households in Scotland, who use heating oil or LPG as their primary heating fuel. Of those households, 87% (about 147,000 households) are located in rural and island areas.
