“Back to Basics” - Introduction to the Techniques used in Botanical Art
Sunday 22nd February Saturday 7th March
Sunday 22nd March Saturday 11th April
All 10am to 3pm

We are kick starting 2026 with a Back to Basics
Course in Botanical Art open to members of the SSBA who would like to 'brush up' and develop their skills and techniques, and members of the public who are interested in botanical art and in developing their skills. This is a short 4 day course in the lovely McHattie Room at Saughton Park Gardens, Edinburgh. Course numbers are limited to 12 so individual attention can be provided. More information will be available on our web site later this week

Beginner's Course in Botanical Art
We are pleased to announce a Beginners Course in Botanical Art open to artists and members of the public who are interested in botanical art and in developing their skills. This is a 30 hour course run over 6 days on Saturdays in the McHattie Room at Saughton Park Gardens, Edinburgh.

This short course will help you develop your skills in
measured drawing and tonal work, the use of watercolour and painting in colour, composition and the further development of your painting skills. Course numbers are limited to 10 so individual attention can be provided.

The 2025 dates are November 8th and 22nd and December 6th. The 2026 dates are February 7th, Sunday 22nd February and Saturday 7th March.

The course fee is £180 for SSBA members and £200 for non-members.
