This is a petition to get students free public transport in Scotland, initiated by the NUS -- please sign the petition if you can!

More than half of students are too old for free bus travel, and the 10% who commute by train face fares far higher than those of many of their counterparts across Europe - it's time for free public transport for all students in Scotland.

The British High Commission was delighted to host a farewell reception for this year's Commonwealth and Chevening Scholarship recipients as they prepare to embark on their studies in the UK.

The evening celebrated their achievements, leadership potential and commitment to creating positive change.

Congratulations Shianne Kusunan, incoming PNG Chevening scholar to the University of Durham!!

🇬🇧🌱 Meet Shianne Kusunan - 🇵🇬's Future Sustainability and Energy Development Leader and 2026 Chevening Scholar!

Shianne has been selected to pursue an MSc in Sustainability, Energy and Development at Durham University through the UK Government's prestigious Chevening Awards (FCDO) Scholarship.

This opportunity will strengthen her expertise in sustainable development, energy systems, and policy, equipping her to help address critical development challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future for Papua New Guinea.
