Heart Cells Foundation

Heart Cells Foundation Heart Cells Foundation was set up by Jenifer and Ian Rosenberg. In 2003 Ian was given just 2 months to live. Sadly, Ian died on 25th August 2006, aged 70.

UK charity celebrating 20 years of funding stem cell research, and in 2016, the launch of the 'Compassionate Treatment Unit for Heart Failure', at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. 🇬🇧❤️ It was then that he heard about cardiac stem cell therapy and travelled to Germany to receive treatment. On his return, Ian Rosenberg’s quality of life was improved and he was shocked to find no patient trials o

f the procedure in the UK. He then decided to set up the Heart Cells Foundation, alongside Jenifer, to raise money to fund ground-breaking cardiac stem cell trials at Barts and London NHS Trust. To this day Jenifer continues to campaign to make this treatment available to all on the NHS, for she is determined to make her late husband’s dream become a reality.

❤️ Heart attack symptoms can present differently in men and women.

Although chest pain is one of the most recognised warning signs, women are more likely to experience a wider range of symptoms that may be overlooked or mistaken for something else.
We’ve put together this graphic to show some of the key differences, inspired by a recent article from The Guardian exploring women’s heart attack symptoms and testing.

Understanding the signs and acting quickly can make a life-saving difference. Please share this information with friends and family. ❤️ To read the full article, click here: https://www.theguardian.com/wellness/2026/jul/27/women-heart-attack-symptoms-testing

☕ Could your daily cup of coffee be helping your heart?

Recent research, highlighted by NPR, suggests that moderate coffee consumption may be associated with a lower risk of certain cardiovascular conditions. Although coffee should never replace a balanced diet, regular exercise and medical advice, findings like these help us better understand how everyday habits may influence heart health.

At Heart Cells Foundation, we're passionate about sharing the latest evidence-based research and treatments for people living with heart disease.

When Sophie’s father, Toby, received life-changing treatment through the Heart Cells Compassionate Program, it made a lasting impact on their family. ❤️

So, when Ed Williamson organised a marathon relay fundraiser around Caldecotte Lake in Sophie’s home city of Milton Keynes, she was proud to recommend Heart Cells as the charity to support.

With each team member completing a lap of the lake and making a donation, the event helped raise vital awareness and funds for Heart Cells. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️❤️

A big thank you to Sophie and her team!
