The HeartCells Foundation is deeply saddened by the passing of Dame Esther Rantzen, our first Ambassador and a longstanding, passionate supporter of our work.

Esther believed deeply in our mission to bring hope to people living with heart failure. Her support was also deeply personal, following the loss of her beloved husband, Desmond Wilcox, to heart disease.

Our thoughts are with Esther's family, friends and loved ones at this very sad time. Her legacy of kindness and service will live on in all those whose lives she touched. ❤️

🍓🍫 A sweet treat with a heart-healthy twist! ❤️

These raspberry yoghurt chocolate bites from are simple to make, delicious and require just three ingredients.

Ingredients:
• 1 cup frozen raspberries
• ½ cup Greek yoghurt
• 100g dark chocolate

Method:
Mix the raspberries and Greek yoghurt, then spoon into small clusters on a lined baking tray. Freeze until firm, then dip each cluster in melted dark chocolate. Return to the freezer until set and they’re ready to enjoy! 🍓🍫

We read an interesting article from Prevention that explores the potential connection between nighttime light exposure, sleep and heart health. ❤️🌙

The article looks at new research suggesting that greater exposure to light while we sleep may be associated with changes in heart structure and an increased risk of heart failure.

While the findings don’t prove that nighttime light directly causes heart problems, they offer an interesting insight into the relationship between our sleep environment and cardiovascular health.

It’s another reminder that looking after our hearts can extend to the everyday habits we might not always think about, even how we sleep. ❤️

Meet Jenifer Rosenberg, OBE ❤️

Jenifer Rosenberg’s career has spanned fashion, entrepreneurship and pioneering medical research.

Starting her career at Marks & Spencer, Jenifer went on to build a hugely successful fashion manufacturing business before turning her attention to something much closer to home.

Following her husband Ian’s diagnosis with heart failure, the pair founded the HeartCells Foundation to support pioneering stem cell research and help improve treatment options for people living with heart failure.

We watched this great video from John Chuback, M.D., a cardiovascular surgeon, sharing five simple daily habits that can help support your heart health. 🫀

From getting the right blood tests and taking a walk after meals, to prioritising good sleep, eating omega-3-rich foods and being mindful of plastic containers, it’s a useful reminder that small everyday choices can make a difference.
