Celebrate Simchat Torah with City Shul!

Join us for one of the most joyful mornings of the year as we celebrate Torah together as a community. Our family-friendly service will include dancing with live music from our in-house guitar ensemble, the unrolling of the entire Torah scroll, a special blessing for children, and activities for kids. The Torah service and dancing will begin around 11:00AM, followed by a short Yizkor memorial service.
And, of course, there will be pizza, snacks, and lots of joy!

Saturday, October 3
We hope you’ll join us!

High Holy Days are for the whole family at City Shul!

Children are always welcome in our services and are free to come in and out as needed. We’ll also have a dedicated space at the back where young children can colour, read or take a break during services.

We’re looking forward to welcoming families of all ages as we celebrate the High Holy Days together.

City Shul School Registration is open for the 2026-2027 school year.

The City Shul School is a part-time Jewish learning experience for children from JK to pre-B-Mitzvah (Grade 7) where children and youth explore Jewish identity, rituals, stories, and questions with the goal of empowering the next generation to make decisions about what being Jewish means to them.

HIGH HOLIDAY DONATIONS - TOYS & GAMES

Please help stock our High Holidays babysitting program! We are looking for donations of gently used toys and games for ages 2-12 and teens. Some items we are especially looking for: puzzles (24-100 pieces), open-ended building toys (e.g., Lego, Magna-Tiles, Squigz), board games with all pieces intact (e.g., Candy Land, Trouble, Guess Who), card games (e.g., Uno, Spot It, deck of cards). Party games for older kids and teens also welcome (e.g., Apples to Apples [especially if Jewish-themed!], Anomia). See pictures below for a few examples. Items should be in excellent condition and not too big to store. No electronic toys, please. Contact Elana Ellison ([email protected]) to coordinate pick up or drop off of toys at a mutually convenient time and location.

Note - additional details about the babysitting program will be posted shortly.
