Just because Canadian content is available doesn’t necessarily mean audiences can easily find it.

That’s where discoverability comes in.

In May, the CRTC introduced a new discoverability framework focused on making Canadian and Indigenous content and services more available and visible to audiences.

As more of what we watch and listen to moves online, how Canadian stories are presented, promoted and recommended can make a difference in whether audiences actually discover them.

We join Canadians in mourning the passing of Lloyd Robertson, one of the most respected and trusted figures in Canadian broadcasting.

Over a remarkable career spanning more than six decades, Robertson helped Canadians understand some of the most significant moments in our history. From his years at the CBC to his decades as chief anchor of CTV National News, his calm presence and unwavering commitment to journalism earned the trust of generations.

His dedication to informing Canadians and strengthening public understanding leaves a lasting legacy for journalism and broadcasting in this country.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, former colleagues, and everyone whose lives he touched.

Thank you, Lloyd Robertson, for a lifetime of service to Canadian journalism. 🇨🇦

Every Canadian has a unique relationship with the CBC. For some, it's a trusted source of news. For others, it's where they've discovered Canadian stories, shared in defining national moments, or stayed connected to their communities.

The stories we've been sharing remind us that public broadcasting is more than just programming—it helps inform, connect, and reflect Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Each story is a reminder of the important role the CBC continues to play in the lives of Canadians.
