This Bisexual Visibility Day, let's talk about the impacts of bisexual erasure.

When people question or dismiss bisexuality as a valid identity, it has real effects on health. Research shows bisexual individuals face significantly higher rates of poor physical and mental health than heterosexual people, and often higher than gay and le***an people as well. A key factor is the chronic stress caused by stigma and discrimination.

To counter this, we need to increase bisexual visibility, include bi communities in 2SLGBTQ+ advocacy, and develop health interventions that address their specific needs.

BREAKING NEWS! Saddle Lake Cree Nation announced on Wednesday it is taking steps to establish a safe haven for gender-affirming care on reserved lands. This is in response to Alberta Bills 26, 27, and 29, which place severe restrictions on trans youth and families, including bans on medical treatments, name/pronoun changes, and sports participation.

Saddle Lake Cree Nation will create a new health law to regulate health care on its lands and territories. They will welcome Canadian-trained clinicians to provide safe, protected, and uninterrupted gender-affirming care, primary care, and specialist care on reserved lands, exempting these clinicians from sanctions by their health regulatory bodies.
