Hi CVRC,

Our next regular club meeting will be Tuesday, November 3 (tomorrow), at 40 Knots Winery, AND we will be inducting our newest member, Denes Vandor!

We will also have a delegation from the Strathcona Sunrise club joining us to discuss Ribfest.

Hope to see everyone there tomorrow.

Popcorn is popping at the CV Child Development Telethon. It's by donation with all proceeds going to the event and the good work it supports in our community. Make sure to ask us about what does here in the while you enjoy a snack.

Please join us Tuesday, 20 October (tomorrow) for the second regular club meeting of the Rotary Club of Comox Valley.

We will be focusing on two main areas of discussion: Ribfest (the intention of this is to make a decision as to whether, and to what extent, our club wishes to participate in the event going forward) and Club finances (we will continue our decision of the budget and club finances).

We are anticipating two guests at this meeting (Rowena and Angus Turner), and will be looking for a volunteer to share their 'Rotary moment'.

Also, be sure to join us from 6:30-7:00, before the official meeting agenda begins, to participate in the “Chase the Ace” 50/50 draw. The pot is currently at $570, and will grow again this week. Half of it could be yours—but you have to play to win, so come early and bring cash for tickets.

See you at 40 Knots Winery.

Many thanks to our friends at the Comox Valley Food Bank and LUSH Valley Food Action Society for joining our member Jenny Deters from Design Therapy Home to create this video promoting Everyone Eats 2026.

Make sure to get your tickets asap for a chance to win great food-related prizes and support local food security.

Along with the Strathcona Sunrise Rotary Club, we are deeply grateful to the Comox Golf Club for lending us their trailer for COMOX VALLEY ROTARY RIBFEST 2026. Our Green Team use it to haul tons (yes, tons) of compost to Strathcona Waste Management, where they turn it into usable products and waive our dumping fees! It truly is a team effort making this the Valley's greenest festival!
