It’s June on Vancouver Island . . . and things are hoppin’ . . . including the Chemainus Summer Fest Car Show coming up on Sunday, June 28th! 😎

The Comox Valley Classic Cruisers want you to know that the end of this month is the 4th Annual Chemainus Summer Fest Car Show on Sunday, June 28th, 2026!

Early Registration (open until Midnight Wednesday June 18th, 2025) is $20.00/per vehicle.

Gate Registration (if space permits) is $30.00/per vehicle.

PLEASE NOTE: The number of entrants is limited and early registration recommended.

OR
paid in person at Doc the Barber or McBride’s Service Station.

The day’s Schedule of Events include:
• 9:15 AM to 9:50AM - Load in from Willow Street at Victoria Street (near the Theatre) 🚗
• 10:00 AM to 3:00PM - Summer Fest Events
• 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM - Award Presentation 🏆
• 3:10 PM to 3:30 - Vehicle Load out. 🚗

Even the threat of stormy weather on this first Thursday of June would not deter the Comox Valley Classic Cruisers from the A&W on Ryan Road in Courtenay to get together over burgers, root beers and coffee. 🍔🍺☕

Great to see so many folks keeping up the tradition . . . even when the weather wasn’t sure. 😉

😎 June Is Here! . . . and next month is gonna be great . . . as the Comox Valley Classic Cruisers signature “Cruisin’ The Valley” car show is this coming July! 🗓

☀️ The car show is FREE TO THE PUBLIC! ☀️

🚗 To pre-register your vehicle for the Comox Valley Classic Cruisers annual car show on Sunday, July 26th, 2026, all you have to do is log on to Car Show Pro and fill out your registration at https://carshowpro.com/events/view/3036
The instructions for using the web site to complete your registration are simple to follow and the entry fee is still only $20.00 per vehicle.

🏆 The show features many People's Choice awards, the CVCC President's award, plus prize draws during the show and 50/50 draws in support of the Black Creek Lions Club. 🎫

🚗 If you would like to join us for a beautiful drive on the evening before the show, the annual “Cruisin’ the Valley” car cruise takes place on Saturday, July 25th, 2026 and will depart Lewis Park in Courtenay, British Columbia at 6:00 PM for a scenic cruise of the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, ending up at the A&W - Ryan Rd, Courtenay. The exact route will be published (with maps available) closer to the event.

This is the Comox Valley Classic Cruisers premiere feature event weekend of the summer, and we would love to have you bring your sweet ride and join us. Please feel free to share this post and its information to help get the word out. 😎

🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: GP Vanier High School is short a few cars for its annual Classic Car Grad Cruise on June 24th. If you are able to drive your car with a few grads in it that day, please call the school at (250) 338-9262 and volunteer? 🚨

Many of the Comox Valley Classic Cruisers have volunteered and we want to see this year's grad cruise be a success! 🎓

Lots of familiar machines gracing the A&W parking lot this evening. And you gotta admit . . . when the oldest car has hit the 100-year mark, cruisin’ the Dub “must” be a long-standing tradition. 😎

Saturday is always a good day to get out and play cars! 😎

The Comox Valley Classic Cruisers would like to thank club members, Bob and Lynne Mace for hosting members for a little fuel injection discussion. Members came out to see how to update to fuel injection at the entry level, to improve their ride’s performance and efficiency. 🔧

Nothing like an afternoon with good people, hot coffee, fresh treats and . . . of course . . . sweet rides . . . to brighten a May weekend. ☕️🍪🍩

Two weeks ago, this evening . . . something special happened!

Our friend, Dan Dertien of Vancouver Island Hot Rods, has always been a classic car enthusiast . . . and both Chevy Nova’s and Pontiac Acadian’s have always held a special place in his heart.

For several years there were lots of conversations amongst the classic car community that Dan needs a Nova or Acadian. Well, last summer a few fellas decided to take the next step . . . and make it happen.

They canvassed at various car events to see if there might be support for their idea and . . . to no one’s surprise . . . there was overwhelming support. It was time to find that special car . . . a 1971 Pontiac Acadian! And, over the last year, the overhaul and complete refinish of this car for Dan was the best kept secret on Vancouver Island.

Two weeks ago, this evening, on May 6th, at a car meet in the KMS Tools parking lot in Nanaimo . . . Dan received his very special surprise! For all that he has done for hot rods, custom cars & trucks and all of us automotive enthusiasts on Vancouver Island, this special “little yellow car” was to show him how important he is to each of us.

The Comox Valley Classic Cruisers are so happy to have been a small part of this very special evening.

Dan, we hope you have been enjoying your sweet new classic ride . . . it sure looks good on you! 😎
