Tickets are on sale now for Courtenay Little Theatre’s 2026-2027 Sid Williams Theatre season.

We are offering a season ticket price of $75 for one seat in all three of our shows. You can choose your seats and make changes later for no charge if your plans change.

Audition for Water Music, by Tina Howe
directed by Michael Bach

Friday August 7: 6:00-8:00pm
Saturday August 8: 2:00-4:00pm
Callbacks: Sunday August 9: 10am-12noon

Auditions at the Courtenay Little Theatre Studio, 2126 Comox Avenue, in Comox

In this lyrical, funny, and moving one-act play, reality and imagination meet at the edge of an indoor swimming pool. A determined lap swimmer, a quiet lifeguard, and Shakespeare's Ophelia are drawn into an unexpected encounter that explores grief, hope, and the possibility of connection across seemingly impossible divides.

CHARACTERS:

§ ROZ – female, 50s-70s, retired English teacher, and regular swimmer at the pool
§ JESUS – male, Latin American (has a few lines in Spanish), late 20s-30s, lifeguard at the pool
§ OPHELIA – female, 20s, from Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

SETTING: An indoor pool and whirlpool at a neighbourhood health club on the Upper West Side of New York City (but could be any North American city). TIME: Now and, in Ophelia’s mind, a long time ago in Denmark).

CLT is excited to announce that we are taking Water Music by Tina Howe to the Vancouver Island One-Act Play Festival November 4-8 in Qualicum, hosted by Echo Players. We will also perform Water Music at CLT’s inaugural one-act play festival, February 26-28, 2027, and at other venues and times in late 2026/early 2027 (to be determined).

Rehearsals will begin in September and will be 2 times per week
