A healthy herd starts with prevention! ✅

Vaccination is an important part of herd health, helping reduce the risk of disease, minimize illness, and support reproductive health.

There’s no one-size-fits-all vaccine program; work with your vet to develop a program tailored to your herd and production system.

Vaccination is an eligible activity under our Herd Health Program! Applications are open until January 31, 2027, with funding available for eligible 2026 activities.

The Connecting Farmers Conference is coming to Prince Edward Island, bringing farmers and agricultural leaders from across Canada together to share ideas, see what’s working and learn from each other.

Expect farmer-led conversations, practical examples from the field, drone and equipment demonstrations, rotational grazing and wetland tours, farm visits, and a true PEI kitchen party. Most importantly, there will be lots of time to connect with other farmers who are trying new things, adapting ideas to their own farms and sharing what they’ve learned along the way.

Beef producers are invited to attend the Old Home Week Cattlemen’s Social on Friday (Aug. 21), sponsored by the Angus, Charolais, Hereford and Simmental Associations.

The social will be held following the cattle shows (approximately 12:30 p.m.) in the 2nd floor meeting room (same location last year). The social is a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of others in the industry.

A thank you to Atlantic Beef Products Inc. for the donation of beef.

Hope to see you there!

Preg checking is an important herd health and management tool that can help producers:
✅ Monitor herd reproductive health and fertility
✅ Estimate calving dates and improve management decisions
✅ Identify open cows and make informed culling or feeding decisions
✅ Avoid the cost of overwintering non-pregnant cows
✅ Identify potential reproductive issues early

Preg checking is one of the eligible activities under the PEICP's Herd Health Program! Herd Health Program application form:https://www.peicattleproducers.com/_files/ugd/3037ad_e9728a849a294ddaa281dc491db09d7f.pdf
