May was a busy one for Dairy Farmers of PEI, and we loved every minute of it. 🥛🐄

From taking part in thinkAG days at Colonel Gray Senior High and Charlottetown Rural, to sharing career-related knowledge with Island students, to handing out free milk and testing dairy trivia skills at the PEI Food Truck Festival, it was a month full of community, connection, and a whole lot of local dairy.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, played along, and helped us celebrate the people behind the milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, and dairy products we enjoy every day. 💙

Happy World Milk Day! 🐮🥛

Not all heroes wear capes, but this one comes pretty close.

Made with 100% Canadian quality milk, proudly produced by Canadian dairy farmers, milk is a staple in so many homes, kitchens, and everyday moments across the country.

This year, we’re also giving a special nod to the UN’s International Year of the Woman Farmer initiative, recognizing the women farmers whose dedication, care, and leadership continue to help shape Canadian agriculture.

Join us in celebrating the wholesome goodness of Canadian milk and the farmers who help bring it to our tables every day. 💙🐄

Fromagerie PEI is bringing Island dairy into kitchens across PEI in the cheesiest way.

Founded by Mathieu Gallant, who grew up on a dairy farm, Fromagerie PEI is rooted in a love for agriculture, tradition, and creating something special from local milk.

Their Squeak-ies Cheese Curds first started in 2016 and have grown into an Island favourite, made in small batches with a focus on quality, food safety, and authentic cheesemaking.

From farm memories to fromage, Fromagerie PEI is a reminder of the creativity, skill, and passion that continue to shape PEI’s dairy industry. 🧀🥛

Dairy Farmers of PEI is proud to be a sponsor of the first annual Charlottetown Food Truck Festival, happening May 22 and 23 at the Eastlink Centre.

With more than a dozen food trucks, a makers’ market, KidZone, licensed entertainment area, and free admission to the ACO Canadian Co****le Classic included with festival entry, it’s shaping up to be a fun weekend for the whole family.

Admission is $5 per day or $10 per family, with proceeds supporting the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty’s community projects across PEI.

Come hungry and support a new Island festival for a great cause. 🐄🧀

Spring on a PEI dairy farm is a season of fresh starts, longer days, and plenty of hard work.

As fields come back to life and farm routines shift with the season, dairy farmers continue the daily care that keeps their animals healthy and their farms moving.

From the barn to the field, spring is a reminder of how much care goes into every part of Island dairy farming. 🐄🩵

At Parkview Farms in Cavendish, guests get more than a place to stay. They get a true PEI farm experience.

Families can watch the milking, help feed calves, meet the barn kittens, and take in the everyday rhythm of life on an active dairy farm, all just a short walk from Cavendish’s sandy beaches.

For generations, the MacNeill family has welcomed visitors to their farm and shared a piece of Island agriculture along the way.

It’s farm life, family memories, and PEI hospitality all in one place. 🐄🩵

Farm moms are a special kind of strong.

From early mornings in the barn to the everyday care that keeps a farm and family moving, dairy farm moms play such an important role in Island agriculture.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the women who care deeply for their families, their animals, and their communities, including farm moms like Danielle Verhulst of Newland Farms Inc. in Hunter River.

Alongside her husband Erik, their kids Oliver, Henry, and Elsie, and Erik’s parents Kees and Elly, Danielle is part of a family farm story rooted in hard work, dedication, and love for PEI dairy.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmothers, and mother figures who help make PEI dairy farming so meaningful. 🐮🩵

May is here, and we’re raising a glass to the PEI dairy farm families who help keep Island families, schools, kitchens, and communities nourished year-round.

Behind every glass of milk, slice of cheese, scoop of yogurt, and splash of cream are hardworking local farmers who care deeply for their animals, their land, and the food they produce.

707 goals. $7,070 for Island kids.

That’s what happens when local hockey and local dairy come together for a great cause.

Through our SCORES for KidSport 2025/26 campaign, Dairy Farmers of PEI donated $10 for every goal scored by the Charlottetown Islanders, Summerside Western Capitals, UPEI Men’s Hockey, and UPEI Women’s Hockey this season.

Together, those four teams scored 707 goals, adding up to a $7,070 donation to KidSport PEI.

We’re proud to support a program that helps more Island kids get involved in sport, build confidence, and be part of a team.

Pictured here, Luke from Dairy Farmers of PEI presents the cheque to KidSport PEI.

A big thank you to the players, coaches, fans, and KidSport PEI for making this season one worth cheering for.

Here’s to keeping the momentum going in 2026/27. 🏒🥛

📌 We recently gathered for our AGM, taking time to connect as an industry and recognize some outstanding producers. 🐮

A sincere congratulations to Abe and Elaine Buttimer of Abelaine Farms Inc on receiving the Ron Sampson Milk Quality Award. This award is presented annually to a PEI dairy farm demonstrating excellence in milk quality and overall farm management – an achievement Abe and Elaine have truly earned.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Gary Hughes and Erik Osinga for their years of service on the Board. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to the dairy industry have made a lasting impact, and we are grateful for their time and energy they’ve given over the years.

We would also like to thank our AGM sponsors, Scotiabank and Lactanet, for their valued support in making this event possible.
