Get ready to try some delicious hot chocolates all across PEI - from Tignish to Souris and everywhere in between! With 46 locations to visit, you’re sure to find one you love.

The Hot Chocolate Trail runs weekends from November 14 to December 21, 2026.

Meet Deanna, a Jersey farmer from Prince Edward Island, sharing her story of raising Jerseys at home and beyond. 🐮

Deanna and her family care for a herd of purebred Jerseys on her 300-acre farm in Prince Edward Island. She is also a leader in her breed association, the local co-op, and a mother of four.

✨ Milking Moments: The Dairy Diaries ✨

This week, we’re visiting SandyRae Farms in Brooklyn, PEI, where six generations of the MacKinnon family have built a life around farming, family and a deep connection to the land.

Dannie and Christine MacKinnon, along with their son Alex and Katie, are continuing a family story that has been growing for generations. Dannie took over the farm in 1982, and Alex joined the business in 2013, helping carry that legacy forward.

At SandyRae Farms, every part of farm life matters, from caring for their animals and growing feed to looking after the soil and sharing their knowledge with others. As a longtime 4-H family, helping people better understand agriculture has also become an important part of their story.

For the MacKinnons, some of the greatest rewards of farming come in the everyday moments: working alongside family, caring for their animals, and continuing to steward the land that has supported generations before them.

❤️ A beautiful morning in Brudenell for the very first Heart Island Tour!
Dairy Farmers of PEI is proud to be part of this wonderful event, encouraging Islanders to get active, connect with friends and family, and enjoy some fresh Island air!
We were delighted to be joined by Montague emergency room physician Dr. Thor Christianson and family physician Dr. Joey Landine from Crapaud, volunteers and coordinators who stopped by to enjoy some refreshing PEI milk with us before kicking things off! 🥛
Milk is a great way to fuel an active lifestyle, providing essential nutrients like protein, calcium and vitamin B12 to support strong bones, healthy muscles and overall well-being.
We’re here all morning, so come on down, say hello, grab some milk and enjoy some fun physical activities with family and friends!

✨ Milking Moments: The Dairy Diaries ✨

This week, we’re visiting Karma Farms, where Cole Noonan is sharing how he built a dairy farming story of his own.

Farming has always been part of Cole’s family, but in 2012, he took the next step through the New Entrant Program. Today, Karma Farms milks about 70 cows twice a day, following a steady routine built around consistency, care and what works best for the herd.

For Cole, there’s something special about the familiar rhythm of each day and seeing just how much the cows respond to that routine. He’s also proud of the future of Canadian dairy and the opportunities the industry can provide for people looking to build a life in agriculture.

Above all, Cole wants Canadians to know how much pride dairy farmers take in producing high-quality local milk right here at home.

What a weekend! 🐮🩵

We had so much fun shellebrating 30 years of the PEI International Shellfish Festival, sharing samples, meeting so many of you and soaking up everything that makes this event such a favourite.

From incredible Island seafood to plenty of butter-worthy bites, it was a pretty perfect weekend to celebrate the best of PEI.

This week, we’re visiting Sky-Hi Holsteins in Springvale, PEI, where Gordon Aten, his daughter Makayla, and her husband Charles share what life on the farm means to their family.

At Sky-Hi Holsteins, farming is built around hard work, caring for their cows and working together as a family. From early mornings in the barn to busy days in the fields, each season brings its own challenges, changes and rewards.

For the Aten family, one of the most meaningful parts of dairy farming is working side by side, watching the farm grow, and continuing to build something for the next generation.

✨ Milking Moments: The Dairy Diaries ✨

This week, we’re visiting Talnie Farms in Union Road, PEI, where generations of the Talen family have built a life around farming, family and a shared love of the land.

Wilbert Talen’s farming story began with his parents, Harrie and Geesje, who brought their farming roots from the Netherlands to Canada. Today, Wilbert and his wife, Denise, are carrying that tradition forward alongside their own children.

Life on the farm is a true family effort, from daily chores and bookkeeping to helping in the fields during the busiest seasons, with Harrie still lending a hand when he’s needed most. Over the years, the family has embraced new technology and change while staying connected to the values that have always mattered most.

For Wilbert, one of the greatest rewards of farming is raising his own family on the land he loves.
