JA PEI extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Wes MacAleer.

We owe much of our success over the past 40 years to Wes and his foundational work in growing Junior Achievement programming in PEI. He was a mentor, a supporter and a true champion for youth entrepreneurship across the Island.

We are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact Wes has had on JA PEI and on the many young people he supported. Our thoughts are with Connie and his family and loved ones during this time.

This post brings both pride and gratitude. Our Vice-Chair, Derek Tweel was awarded yesterday with Atlantic Lottery / Loto Atlantique Game Changer Award - gifting him with $25,000 to donate to a charity of his choice, for his longtime community service and leadership. We are so honoured that he chose JA PEI to be the recipient of this donation.

Derek has given so much to both JA, and our community as a whole. He is a role model for not just JA students, but all Islanders.

Thank you, Derek, for all that you do and congratulations on this incredibly deserving award. We can’t wait to share further details of how this contribution will fuel Island student success.

From Canadian stickers to sold-out car air fresheners, John and Mason have spent the past two years turning big ideas into real businesses. 🍁

At the Summerside Rotary and Chamber Business Lobster Luncheon in July, the JA Prince Edward Island Company Program students and founders of True North Co. shared how JA PEI helped them grow their company and themselves, from their first year exploring entrepreneurship basics, to selling out every product at last year's Business Hall of Fame Gala.

Heading into their third and final year with JA PEI, they credit the program's mentors for pushing them to think bigger and keep going through every challenge.

That's what Junior Achievement is all about giving young entrepreneurs the skills, support, and confidence to bring their ideas to life. 💡
