Stage 4 Water Restrictions Begin November 4
The City of Calgary will implement Stage 4 Outdoor Water Restrictions and indoor water conservation measures beginning November 4 for approximately four weeks, while crews connect the new Bearspaw South Feeder Main to Calgary’s water system.
During this work, the existing feeder main will be temporarily shut down, leaving Calgary primarily dependent on one water treatment plant and significantly reducing the city’s water supply.
What Stage 4 Restrictions Mean
All outdoor water use is prohibited, including:
Watering lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs.
Washing vehicles, sidewalks, driveways and outdoor surfaces.
Filling pools, hot tubs and decorative fountains.
Using water for construction activities.
Outdoor snow or ice making.
Exceptions may apply for health and safety reasons.
Indoor Water Conservation
Residents, businesses and organizations are also asked to reduce indoor water use wherever possible throughout the four-week period.
Businesses and community organizations are encouraged to plan ahead and identify ways to conserve water while maintaining essential programs and services.
