🏓 BANKVIEW PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT 2026! 🏓

Get your partner and get ready for a full day of fun!

📅 Saturday, September 19, 2026
📍 Bankview Community Association
👥 Mixed Doubles
🏆 Maximum 18 teams / 36 players
💰 $25 per person / $50 per team

🏓 TOURNAMENT FORMAT
• Mixed doubles format
• 3 courts in use throughout the tournament
• Round Robin followed by Playoffs
• 5 guaranteed matches in the Round Robin
• Games to 11 points, win by 2
• Traditional side-out scoring
• Tournament follows the current Pickleball Canada Official Rules, with modifications as needed for scheduling

🎾 PLAYER EXPECTATIONS
Players are asked to:
✅ Arrive at least 15 minutes before their first match
✅ Be ready to play when called
✅ Wear appropriate court shoes
✅ Show great sportsmanship
✅ Respect opponents, volunteers, officials, and tournament staff

🌧️ Rain Date: If the tournament is rained out, it will be rescheduled as soon as possible and may be held the following week.

🍕 FOOD & SOCIAL
Enjoy some snacks throughout the day, followed by a pizza-style dinner to wrap up the tournament! Please note that pizza dinner will only be served to players.

📣 REGISTRATION
Registration opens August 9 online!
⏰ Registration deadline: September 12
💵 Entry fees must accompany registration.

The tournament is open to BCA and surrounding community members, aged 18+. Not a Bankview Community member? No problem! Non-members can join as an Associate Member when registering. Registration link in bio!

PICKLEBALL PLAYERS WANTED!

The Bankview Community Association is looking for local pickleball players to appear as background talent in our upcoming Pickleball Tournament promo video! 🏓

🗓 Date: Friday, August 28, 2026
⏰ Approx. Time: 8:15–10:00 PM
📍 Location: Bankview Pickleball Courts

We’re looking for people who already play pickleball and are comfortable playing naturally in the background while we film.

No acting experience needed, just bring your pickleball skills and come play!

Join representatives from the Bankview Community Association and City of Calgary staff for a community walk through the neighbourhood.

This is an opportunity to share your experiences, observations, and ideas about:

✅ Safety and accessibility
✅ Parks and public spaces
✅ Neighbourhood connections
✅ Growth and change in the community

Exciting news! 🎉 Playground improvements are coming this August to two neighbourhood playgrounds in Bankview!

These upgrades will help create even better spaces for families, neighbours, and kids to gather, play and connect. We can’t wait to see the improvements come to life and will share updates as work gets underway.
