Spruce Cliff when nature is next door, wildfire is a risk.
Protect your property.

Seasonal risk of wildfire, grass fires and other outdoor fires are a growing reality across Canada, especially where residential neighbourhoods join up with wildlands.

Sharing a great initiative

We're sharing this great initiative from our colleagues at the Mount Royal Community Association.

YYC GRAFFITI FREE CHALLENGE
The idea is simple.

Residents "adopt" their daily commute, whether they walk, cycle, drive, or take transit and report graffiti they encounter along their route using the Calgary 311 App.

The Challenge:
- Choose your route, when you see graffiti appear.
- Report graffiti through 311, it's easy, open the app, start a new report, take a picture, locate it on the map, classify and submit.
- Track the improvement, watch your route get cleaned.
- Challenge others to participate.

The objective is not perfection. The objective is participation.

A single resident can improve an alley or route wherever. Honestly, some believe graffiti is not a problem, because no one reports it on 311. We know that is just not true, there are more metrics that 311 summary reports that tell us otherwise.

A neighbourhood can improve a corridor. The city gains insight into frequent and target zones, in time they may develop a strategy.
Collectively, communities across Calgary can change expectations about what our public spaces should look like.
