Rally for Ukraine
OLESHKY: Starvation. Occupation. Genocide

📅 Sunday, September 20
🕐 1:00 PM
📍 Municipal Plaza, 800 Macleod Trl SE

UCC Calgary Branch invites you to join a rally dedicated to the critical humanitarian situation in Oleshky, a Ukrainian city in the occupied left-bank Kherson region.

Under Russian occupation, Oleshky has been facing a devastating humanitarian crisis. Civilians are living without reliable access to food, medicine and basic necessities, while ongoing hostilities, mines and restrictions have made it extremely difficult and dangerous to leave the city. The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission has reported severe food shortages and lack of medical assistance in the city.

This situation is a strong reminder of the human cost of Russian occupation and of what it means when Ukrainian territories are left under Russian control. Behind every occupied city are real people: families, children, older people, who cannot escape without risking their lives.

We gather to raise awareness of what is happening in Oleshky, to speak about the realities faced by civilians under occupation, and to make sure their voices are heard.

🇺🇦 Join us. Stand with Oleshky. Stand with Ukraine.
