WFUWO ANNOUNCES APPLICATIONS FOR THE ANNA KISIL SCHOLARSHIP FOR UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE STUDIES
during the Summer Online Courses of the XXI International School of Ukrainian Studies “Step to Ukraine” at the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations of Lviv Polytechnic National University

July 14–25, 2026

Who can apply for the Anna Kisil Scholarship?

All interested women of Ukrainian descent from the diaspora between the ages of 16 and 35.

How can you apply for the Anna Kisil Scholarship?

Please submit the following documents by email to [email protected]:

a) A brief introduction about yourself;

b) A letter on the topic: “Why are these courses important to me?” (up to 200 words);

c) A letter of recommendation from a local Ukrainian women's organization or another community organization.

In addition, applicants must:

Register for the International School of Ukrainian Studies “Step to Ukraine” offered by the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations (IIECDR/MIOK) at Lviv Polytechnic National University via the online application form.
Application Deadline: June 25, 2026

Applications for the scholarship will be reviewed, and scholarship recipients will be selected in June 2026.

Мітинг на підтримку України: Агресія Росії триває

Конгрес Українців Канади – Відділ Калгарі закликає долучитися до мітингу на підтримку України, щоб нагадати громадськості: війна триває, а Росія продовжує щодня тероризувати мирне населення.

15 червня росія здійснила чергову масовану атаку по Україні, випустивши 611 ударних дронів та 70 ракет різних типів. Під ударом опинилися Київ, Харків, Дніпро та інші міста. Пошкоджено житлові будинки та цивільну інфраструктуру. Є загиблі, серед яких п’ятеро рятувальників ДСНС, які ліквідовували наслідки обстрілів.

На жаль, це не виняток, а чергова ніч у реальності, в якій живуть українці. Останніми місяцями Росія значно збільшила кількість ракетних і дронових атак, що підвищує ризики для цивільного населення та ускладнює роботу протиповітряної оборони.

Війна не закінчилася.

Збираймося разом, щоб говорити про Україну, підтримати наших людей та нагадати світу про злочини, які Росія продовжує чинити щодня.

🇺🇦 Rally for Ukraine: Russia's Aggression Continues

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Calgary Branch invites everyone to join a rally to remind the public that Russia's war against Ukraine continues and that Ukrainian civilians remain under constant attack.

On June 15, Russia launched another massive attack against Ukraine, striking 611 drones and 70 missiles of various types. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and other cities became the targets. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged, and lives were lost, including five emergency workers who were killed while extinguishing fires caused by the strikes.

This how another night looks like in a long series of attacks that Ukrainians continue to endure. Russia has significantly increased the scale of its missile and drone attacks, making them more difficult to intercept and increasing the danger for civilians.

The war is not over.

Join us as we stand together, speak out for Ukraine, and raise awareness about the ongoing war against innocent people. We cannot allow the world to look away while this violence continues.

Bring your flags, signs, and voices.

We are deeply saddened by yesterday’s Russian attack on Kyiv, which damaged the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra — one of Ukraine’s most treasured spiritual and cultural landmarks.

For centuries, this sacred site has stood as a symbol of faith, resilience, and Ukrainian identity. The damage caused by this attack is not only an assault on a historic cathedral, but also on Ukraine’s cultural heritage and the values it represents.

As Russia continues its war against Ukraine, the destruction of cultural and religious sites serves as a painful reminder that this aggression targets not only people and communities, but also the history and identity of a nation.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all those working to protect and preserve Ukraine’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Ukraine endures. Ukraine remembers. Ukraine will prevail.
