Federation of Calgary Communities' Good Places Project that may be of interest to residents in your communities.

The Placemaking Residency is a free program designed to help Calgarians build leadership skills and bring small-scale community improvement projects to life. Participants receive support from the Good Places team, connect with other residents, work alongside their community association, and can access a microgrant of up to $2,500 to help implement their project. Potential projects could include community gathering spaces, art installations, neighbourhood activities, recreational amenities, and other initiatives that make public spaces more welcoming and vibrant.
Residents do not need prior placemaking experience or even a fully developed project idea to apply. The program is aimed at people who are interested in making a positive impact in their neighbourhoods.

Applications open November 1 and close November 30.

As Calgary begins planning for the next budget cycle, Councillor Harrison Clark is seeking input from residents across Ward 9 on the issues, priorities, and investments that matter most to our communities.

Councillor Harrison Clark's upcoming Ward 9 Community Open House.

This event is an opportunity for residents to connect directly with the Councillor, City Administration, and community partners to discuss local issues, learn about projects and initiatives affecting Ward 9, and ask questions about topics that matter to them.

We will also have representatives from many City departments and business units in attendance, providing residents with a unique opportunity to speak directly with City staff, gather information, share feedback, and learn more about services, projects, and programs happening across Calgary.

The City of Calgary is gathering public feedback online to better understand how Calgarians walk, bike and travel through the Cushing Bridge area. Feedback will help identify preferred routes, pathway improvements, traffic delays and other local concerns.

The online survey will be open from August 21 to September 14, 2026.

Research Opportunity for Greater Forest Lawn Residents

The City of Calgary Innovation Lab is looking for community members to participate in a Neighborhood Inquiry Kit focused on food and community experiences in Greater Forest Lawn.

The kit contains simple, self-guided activities that can be completed at your own pace, including a journal, map activity, photo reflections, and short questions about your neighbourhood experiences.

We're interested in hearing from a variety of residents and experiences. You do not need any special knowledge or background in food-related issues to participate.

Participants who complete the kit will receive an honorarium as thanks, and and all materials will be provided.
