Today was a beautiful day to celebrate our last WELCOME SHABBAT before the summer break! ☀️

Together with our PJ Library Calgary Tot Shabbat families, we enjoyed a wonderful morning filled with music, challah, popsicles, and friends. We danced, sang, and had so much fun together! We especially appreciate Karin and Ofri for bringing such warmth, joy, and beautiful music to our celebration this morning.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us throughout the year and helped make Welcome Shabbat such a special community gathering. We wish you a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming you back in September for more Shabbat celebrations, friendship, and fun!

Through song, we celebrated diversity, friendship, and the power of music to bring people together. Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped to make this concert such a meaningful experience.

The Paperny Family JCC’s commitment to investing in leadership and lifelong learning provided members of our Senior Leadership Team the opportunity to attend The Art of Leadership Women conference.

The day was filled gaining valuable insights, inspiration, and fresh perspectives from an incredible lineup of women speakers. We are excited to bring these ideas back to our JCC community as we continue to grow, lead, and serve with purpose.

Our SUMMER CHALLAH FLAVOUR CONTEST is back!

Suggest a new summer challah flavour and see your idea rise to the occasion! The winning flavour will be available for purchase in July and August, during regular Friday morning challah sales. The winner will also receive one free challah of their suggested flavour!

Enter to win by submitting your suggestion in the comments by Thursday, June 30 or complete your ballot at the JCC Customer Service Desk.

Please note that flavour suggestions must be meat and dairy free.

Each year, students in Holocaust Studies 35 choose their own final projects to tie their learning to the community. Past projects have included gardening at a Holocaust survivor's home and creating a Holocaust memorial garden at the school. This year, students chose to publish the remarkable art of their classmates and those who came before them.

Together, they created their own cover art, photographed the pieces, edited the photos, and put the works together digitally.

Now through to June 22, the Paperny Family JCC is showcasing their work from the first five years of Holocaust Studies at Highwood High School (High River), the students who chose it as an option, and everyone who has supported the program as it has grown.
