Phenology is the study of recurring plant and animal life cycle stages—such as flowering, leafing, hibernation, and migration—and their timing in relation to weather and climate. Often called "nature's calendar," it tracks how seasonal changes influence biological activities. It is critical for monitoring ecosystem differences and climate change impacts.
Braeside Community Association is pleased to host an upcoming presentation on Phenology:
• Wed. May 12, 2026
• Doors open: 6:00 PM,
• Presentation begins at 6:30 PM

Braeside citizen scientist, Julia Robinson, who is completing her environmental action project through the Energy Environmental Innovations class (EEI) at Central Memorial High School will lead the presentation. She’ll introduce the study of biological cycles over time (phenology), explain how those cycles are affected by environmental change, describe what citizen sciences are, and identify conservation uses for phenology research.
An interactive question and answer discussion will follow the presentation.
No prior knowledge of phenology is required.

We hope to see you there! 🐞🐝🌼🍃🐦🐇
