The Happy Birthday Project OVER 10,000 Birthday celebrations for in-need children have been made possible thanks to the volunteers and donors of The Happy Birthday Project!

We believe every child deserves to feel special and celebrated on their birthday. Our mission is to bring joy to the lives of children and families facing adverse circumstances through the celebration of birthdays, holidays, and other special life events. We deliver party packs that include all the decorations and supplies required to throw a birthday party as well as a new gift for the birthday child. The families we serve are referred to us through local social agencies.

The Happy Birthday Project Needs Birthday Cards!

Our birthday card cupboard is LOW. We’re especially looking for birthday cards for boys and gender-neutral birthday cards (for young children to teens).✨

Did you know? Every birthday package we create includes a blank birthday card. We leave it unsigned so that the parent or caregiver can write their own personal message to their child. 🛍️

That simple card does more than share birthday wishes, it helps preserve a parent’s role in celebrating their child’s special day. 🥳

Sometimes, the most meaningful gift is seeing “Happy Birthday, I love you” written in a loved one’s own handwriting. 💌

☀️A lemonade stand.
🎒Four backpacks.
✨Four children whose lives will be impacted.

These incredible girls from McKenzie Towne & Douglasdale didn’t just spend a summer day selling lemonade, they chose to make a difference.

At the end of the day, with a little extra help from their moms, they raised enough to purchase and fill 4 brand-new back-to-school backpacks for The Happy Birthday Project.

Those four backpacks mean so much more than school supplies. They mean confidence. Pride. A chance for four children facing crisis to walk into school with something that’s brand new, all their own, and made to last.

These girls didn’t just sell lemonade. They created hope. They proved that you’re never too young to change someone’s life.

Summer isn’t over yet, and this is an idea any child can do. Start a lemonade stand. Sell crafts. Walk dogs. Bake treats. Collect bottles. Or come up with your own creative fundraiser. It isn’t about giving away everything you earn, it’s about giving a little and discovering the incredible impact you can make.

Parents, if your child fundraises for The Happy Birthday Project, we’d love to celebrate them! Send us a photo and tell us their story. We want more children to see that they have the power to make a real difference in the life of another child.

Who knows? Their small idea could change someone’s world.

These are kids facing medical challenges, living in low income homes, facing life disruptions, staying in shelters or couch surfing - there are so many reasons kids are referred to our program - but they all have one thing in common… tney need our support. 💕

🎒Current Need🎒

A new backpack may seem like a small thing.

But for many teens we support, it’s so much more.

It’s a chance to fit in with their classmates. It’s something that’s truly theirs after losing everything in a fire or other crisis. Sometimes, it’s the one place they can carry all of their belongings as they move between temporary homes or shelters.

Right now, has no teen backpacks available, and with the new school year in a couple of months, we need to stock up!

Costco currently has quality backpacks at a great price, and we’d love your help filling our shelves. These particular bags are durable, practical, and something a teen can be proud to carry.

If you’re able, please consider picking up one backpack or even a few, and donating them to us. Every bag will go directly to a young person facing a difficult time. ✨

A simple backpack can provide dignity, confidence, and a reminder that someone cares.💙

Every child deserves to feel special and celebrated on their birthday. 🎂

Right now, we are seeking donations of gifts for 2-year-olds so that children in our community who are referred to our program can experience the joy, excitement, and sense of belonging that every birthday should bring.

For our youngest kids, we are specifically looking for:
~ Scout & Violet dolls
~ Baby dolls
~ Car sets
~ Fisher-Price Little People toys
~ Toys that play music
~ Leapfrog & VTech Toys
(age appropriate for 2-year-olds)

We know that even a simple toy can become a treasured memory. 🎁
