SOMETHING STRANGE IS FLOATING AROUND THE LEGO LAB… 👀👻

We’ve got some floating phantoms on our hands, and they’re not here to haunt you. They’re here to defy gravity!

Float on over to the LEGO Lab and create your very own floating ghost with a little supernatural science!

But what’s keeping these ghosts afloat? Not ghostly powers, but an invisible force called a magnetic field! 🧲

It all comes down to tiny electrons working together. When their magnetic forces line up, they create a magnetic field that can attract metals like iron, nickel, and cobalt, or even push other magnets away.

Turns out, the real magic was science all along!

Something BIG is lighting up Calgary after dark… and it has teeth.🦖

Calgary’s favourite scrap-metal Albertosaurus, RUSTY, is officially shining a little brighter, making their iconic 30-foot silhouette easier to spot from Deerfoot Trail once the sun goes down.

Next time you’re cruising past TELUS Spark after dark, be sure to look over and say hi to Rusty! 👋

A Calgary dino legend, now hard to miss. Have you spotted Rusty yet? 👀

Happy World Teacher’s Day! 🍎✏️📚

Today we’re celebrating the teachers who spark curiosity, inspire new ideas, and help shape the future, one question, experiment and curious little plot twist at a time.

At Spark, we get to see every day how teachers bring wonder and creativity to life for young minds. Whether it’s in the classroom or on a field trip, you help create the moments that can inspire the next generation of scientists, artists and innovators.

This year, World Teacher’s Day marks 60 years of standing with teachers, protecting the profession and advancing its status, while recognizing the incredible role educators continue to play in shaping our futures.

Thank you for everything you do to make the world a smarter, kinder and more curious place. You make a big impact, and we’re so grateful for all that you do. 💡💙
